As the creator of an eponymous ready-to-wear line, collaborator on lu workout gear for Adidas, outspoken animal-rights activist, and budding beauty guru (look for her new organic skin-care line at Sephora in Februrary), it's no wonder that multitasking designer Stella McCartney considers sleep to be the ultimate luxury. I hardly have any time, she explains. I literally spent about five minutes getting ready in the morning! Luckily for her fans, though, McCartney has found time to concoct two new scents, Stella In Two Peony and Amber. The former, a perfume spray, incorporates cedar and patchouli with floral notes, while the latter is a purse-size solid perfume compact that contains essence of amber. When I create scents, I see it as a chance to share my memories with others, she says. For me, peony captures my English side—nothing beats walking past an amazing country garden. And my husband was wearing amber when I met him, so it had to be part of the fragrance! The scents are meant to be combined to create a special, made-for-you feel, just as you'd want in fashion, the designer says. It's about going for it, being yourself, and not compromising for anything that's not you.
