If you updated your iPhone to iOS 10 back in September, you were treated to a slew of brand new, more inclusive emojis. But wait, there's more: A whole other batch of emojis that have never before existed are coming our way.
Apple released the first beta of iOS 10.2 — the update containing all the new emojis — to developers on Monday, though the Unicode Consortium, a.k.a. the worldwide emoji standards watchdog, approved the full list of new emojis back in June. No word yet on the exact date that the emojis will hit iPhones, but experts estimate that it will happen sometime this month or next month.
So what can you expect to see on your emoji keyboard when they're up and running? Well, there's the highly anticipated Shrug:
Face Palm:
Selfie (for when you're not up for taking your own):
And you can even express a sneeze in emoji form:
In terms of food, finally the avocado emoji will be ripe for the picking:
Bacon:
Salad:
Even a potato:
And for your darker moods, try out the Wilted Flower:
Or maybe the Black Heart is more your style:
In addition to these and many more emojis for foods, amimals, facial expression etc., emoji professionals galore will be added in both the male and female variety. Look out for astronauts, teachers, singers, judges — basically anything you dreamed of being as a kid. About time.
