Barbz all over the world are opening up Instagram to a major surprise: Nicki Minaj is pregnant.
The rapper shared the big news on the app through two pastel-hued photos on Monday, July 20. In the first Instagram post, she dons a floral-embellished bikini and is sitting as she cradles her stomach with a smile on her face; the second photo features her standing and staring into the camera head-on while wearing an elaborately ruffled crop-top and beaded bottoms. Her caption on the former image was simple: “#Preggers.”
In a follow-up post, she added, “Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes.”

Immediately, fans and celebs alike shared their support for major announcement. La La Anthony showered the rapper with emoji when she wrote, “Congrats Nick ‼️😘😘😘u look beautiful ❤️💖GLOWING🥰🙏🏽🥰💖❤️🙏🏽🥰🥰🥰💖💖💖💖💖.” Tinashe commented, “CONGRATS QUEEN!!!!!,” while Sam Smith wrote, “Congratulations beautiful x.”
“This is so exciting!!,” designer Christian Cowan added. “I need to start designing some baby looks to send to ya!!!”
As Marie Claire noted, Nicki may have been alluding to her pregnancy earlier this year in a series of tweets in which she referred to “cravings” and other symptoms that are historically related to pregnancy. But it’s also understandable that she decided to keep her news private until she decided it was right to announce the pregnancy on her terms.
