Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp is celebrating his first Pride after coming out as gay. The 18-year-old posted a photo of himself standing in New York City's Washington Square Park during the events on Sunday afternoon.
“First pride❤️” he wrote in the caption. In the image, Schnapp is dancing and smiling while wearing a black tank top that reads: “Straight Outta The Closet.” In other photos, it appears Schnapp's mom was also in attendance.

In January 2023, Schnapp came out as gay in a video on TikTok. In the video, he mouths the words, “You know what it never was? That serious.” While the text on it says, “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared and in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know.’”
He also mentioned that he had a lot more in common with his Stranger Things character, Will who Schnapp told Variety, is gay. “Now that he’s gotten older, they made it a very real, obvious thing. Now it’s 100% clear that he is gay and he does love Mike,” he said. "But before, it was a slow arc.”
