Could North West be advancing her career as a musician? All signs point to maybe. Just weeks after becoming one of the youngest artists to ever chart on Billboard’s Hot 100 list with her verse on Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Ty Dolla $ign’s "Talking," the 10-year-old has announced her debut album is seemingly in the works.

North West announced she is working on an album of her own during a recent listening party held in Phoenix, Arizona, to promote Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s Vultures 2, the continuation of Vultures 1, which featured "Talking." While previewing tracks from the upcoming project, which was supposed to be released on March 8 but is yet to hit streaming platforms, the rappers were joined by 10-year-old West, who took it upon herself to deliver the news.

In a video from the listening party originally captured by Brian Long and since shared across multiple fan and news accounts on X, North West announces she’s “been working on an album” before revealing the title as Elementary School Dropout, clearly a reference to her father’s critically acclaimed debut studio album, The College Dropout, from 2004.

North West delivered the news clad in all-black Vultures merch and wearing a ushanka while her father stood behind her wearing a mask that completely covered his face. After hearing North West’s announcement, the crowd erupted in a roar. Aside from the semi-parodic title, nothing else has been disclosed about the potential album.

The day she announced Elementary School Dropout, West took the stage to perform “Talking” during the listening party, and according to videos from the night, she was accompanied by siblings Chicago and Psalm on stage.

This might not be the last we hear of North West’s potential project though, as Ye and Ty Dolla $ign are set to hold another listening party for Vultures 2, the second album off their proposed trilogy, in San Francisco on March 12 before making their live debut as a duo under their joint moniker ¥$ on March 14 at Los Angeles’ Rolling Loud California.
