And it’s very different from her school uniform from last year.

Back-to-school season is officially upon us, and it seems like North West is already building her class wardrobe. Just days after being spotted with cousin Penelope Disick in NYC, showing off her bold maximalist style, the 12-year-old is back on the West Coast and giving us her take on casual style.

Earlier this week, North West was spotted doing some back-to-school shopping on Melrose Avenue. She was photographed leaving the Vivienne Westwood store — yes, very casual back-to-school shopping spot — wearing one of the most pared-down 'fits we’ve seen her rock in ages.

The first thing we noticed is that she was wearing her now trademark blue hair out of the braids she's been rocking since the Met Gala for the first time, instead opting to let her natural curls grace the top of her shoulders, though slicking down some of her baby hairs and opting for a clean center parting.

Aside from the hair, North West also extended the comfy vibes to her outfit, which consisted of a crisp white tee with a graphic design in the chest area, grey sweatpants shorts, and a pair of white Rick Owens dunk sneakers worn under white Nike socks that peeked through the top of the hi-top sneakers.

To elevate the look just a tiny bit, North West added a pair of racer-style Balenciaga sunnies that retail for $695, as well as a bold silver chain necklace and a black manicure.

It seems like North West is really enjoying the comfy with an edge aesthetic these days, and this look is no exception. In the past, we have seen her favoring other pieces that fall within the same realm, from jorts to studded bags and even more coveted hi-top sneakers.

Last year, Kim Kardashian actually gave us a peek at North West in her school attire, sharing a photo of her eldest in a matching uniform with Chicago, and it's evident she's been on a fashion journey since then. While she still favored Nike socks then, North's outfits these days feel like much more of a statement, and you don’t need her hefty price tags to channel that individuality and sense of comfort into your own back-to-school looks!
