This post contains spoilers for season one of Netflix's live-action One Piece.

The One Piece cast is getting bigger for the long-awaited second season, and there will be plenty of faces you're going to want to keep on your radar going forward.

Season two of One Piece—which was greenlit back in 2023 shortly after the show premiered—is the next installment of Netflix's swashbuckling live-action adaptation. The Straw Hats are embarking on their next adventure, the Grand Line, with new friends and foes joining them along the way.

Emily Rudd, who plays Nami, tells Teen Vogue ahead of season two's premiere that, "compared to last season, we have more new friends, more foes, more islands, more adventure—the whole thing is just more, and I’m so excited for the fans to see it all.”

In adapting the Baroque Works Saga, more than 20 members have joined the cast for season two, which premieres March 10 on Netflix, with eight brand-new episodes. You'll see most of the characters get their due onscreen, but we have also rounded up the key actors and players you should pay attention to before, after, and while tuning in—especially since season three has already been confirmed.

Below, meet the key cast of Netflix's One Piece and learn more about their roles.

Iñaki Godoy leads the cast of the One Piece live-action in the main role of Monkey D. Luffy, who's on a quest to become the king of the pirates. In season one, we met Luffy as a mere aspiring pirate and got a bit of his backstory, including some details about his upbringing and how he became a rubber human by consuming the gum-gum fruit.

We also saw him embark on his first adventure gathering the initial members of the Straw Hat Pirates, named after Luffy's headwear of choice, which he got courtesy of Shanks, played by Peter Gadiot in the live-action.

At the end of season one, Luffy's first wanted poster was unveiled with a bounty of 30 million berries—the highest in the East Blue. Now, in season two, he is officially a wanted man as he sails with his crew to new adventures in the Grand Line.

Godoy landed in the One Piece universe from Mexico. The 22-year-old was born and raised in Mexico City, but he has since traded his native city for Cape Town, South Africa, to film the show. One Piece is Godoy's first main role in an international project, but he's been a working actor since he was only 11. Some of his past credits include The Imperfects and Who Killed Sara? on Netflix, MexZombies, and Humberto Hinojosa Ozcariz's 2022 horror movie, Don't Open the Door.

Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro

The first to join Luffy in the Straw Hats was green-haired Roronoa Zoro, played by Mackenyu in the live-action. Zoro is one of one of the most skilled swordsmen in the world, and before becoming a pirate, he was a pirate hunter. In season two, we'll see even more of Zoro's sword mastery, courtesy of the Baroque Works Saga.

Mackenyu, a Japanese American actor, is also the son of actor and martial artist Sonny Chiba. One Piece is not his first live-action adaptation; he previously appeared in Knights of the Zodiac, Fullmetal Alchemist, and more.

Since the first season of One Piece premiered, Mackenyu has shown his dedication to Zoro time and again: Famously, he added two piercings to his left ear to match the character's signature triple gold hoops. Mackenyu is also a longtime fan of Eiichiro Oda's work and told Tudum that "Zoro has always been [his] favorite character.” The actor has also said that he's willing to “retire” playing Zoro.

Emily Rudd as Nami

American actor Emily Rudd plays Nami, the second member to join Luffy in the Straw Hats. Rudd has described the character as “the cool, calm, collected cat burglar of the group.” At first a pirate skeptic, Nami joined the crew after one of the most emotional moments in season one, and she took on the role of de facto navigator immediately. In season two, Nami grows into her role even more as the crew begins sailing through the Grand Line.

Rudd, a longtime anime fan who grew up doing karate, is a perfect fit for the role of Nami, who wields a Bo Staff. You might also recognize Rudd from other Netflix titles, such as Fear Street and Delicious in Dungeon, as the English voice of Marcille in the latter.

Jacob Romero as Usopp

Denver native Jacob Romero is our live-action Usopp, the son of Yasopp of the Red Hair Pirates. He joined the Straw Hats at Syrup Village, and helped the group secure their ship, the Going Merry, which he takes care of.

Usopp is a great sniper and inventor, and though he may not be the most naturally valiant in the crew, you wouldn't know it from his tales. Expect to see even more of his antics in season two— complete with those trademark goggles.

The 29-year-old Romero has described his character as “the legendary sharpshooter with a tendency to stretch the truth.” He's often the main source of comedic relief and an anchoring presence for the group. Usopp is Romero's biggest role to date, but he has also appeared in Issa Rae's series Rap Sh!t, Greenleaf, and had smaller roles in The Resident and Grey’s Anatomy.

Taz Skylar as Sanji

Sanji was the last member to join the Straw Hat Pirates in season one, after a pit stop at the Baratie, an ocean-going restaurant. He is the crew's designated cook and a sword-less fighter; he only fights with his feet because his hands are for cooking.

Sanji joined the crew with the dream of finding the All Blue, a sea where all seas meet, which has been described as a “chef's paradise.” He is also known for having a soft spot for women, particularly Nami (for now, at least, but we shall see more in seasons two and three…).

Sanji is brought to life in the live-action by 30-year-old Taz Skylar. Hailing from the Canary Islands in Spain, Skylar, whose real name is Tarek Yassin Skylar, has British and Lebanese ancestry. In addition to acting, he is a screenwriter. While preparing for the role of Sanji, Skylar underwent intense fight training to be able to do a lot of his stunts; he also took cooking lessons for the role.

Charithra Chandran is one of the key additions to the cast of One Piece in season two. We are introduced to the character as Baroque Works member Miss Wednesday, alongside her partner Mr. 9; however, soon after the blue-haired assassin crosses paths with the Straw Hats, we learn more about her real identity and motives for joining the organization.

Scotland-born and Oxford-raised Chandran is best known for her role as Edwina Sharma in season two of Netflix's Bridgerton. Chandran's One Piece character will be a major player in season three, which has already been greenlit by Netflix, so play close attention to her in season two.

Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper

One of the most anticipated characters for fans since the live-action was announced is Tony Tony Chopper, and season two finally delivers the moment we've all been waiting for. We meet the cute, blue-nosed reindeer as the Straw Hats make their way into Drum Island—and we'll get to see all of his backstory and special prowess. And yes, you can expect to see a lot more from Chopper in the future.

Fans had been wondering how Chopper would be brought to life for years, and Netflix has gone the fluffy-CGI route. There are multiple actors and crew members involved in bringing this fan-favorite character to life, but all iterations are voiced in English by Mikaela Hoover, whose credits include The Suicide Squad, Holidate, Love Hard, James Gunn's Superman, and more. She is also part of season two of Netflix's hit show Beef.

Lera Abova is another key addition to the cast for season two as Miss All Sunday, a mysterious member of the Baroque Works, and we'll be seeing a lot more of her going forward. Netflix has confirmed that Abova has been upped to series regular for the third season, like Hoover, and you'll learn a lot more about her at the end of season two.

Netflix has described the character as being “feared by the government, branded a devil child, and wielding a power that blooms with deadly precision, she’s no stranger to danger.”

For Abova, a 33-year-old Russian German model and actor, this is her first major role. But her past credits include Anna, Exterritorial, Honey Don't!, and Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin.

Season two will introduce 49-year-old Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, who has also been upped to a series regular for season three. With Miss All Sunday, Netflix described Mr. 0 as “Baroque Works’ most dangerous duo.”

But the description doesn't stop there: “With power cloaked in mystery and intentions hidden behind ominous smiles.” The streamer also teased that “Manganiello as Mr. 0 is bringing a whole new level of danger to the Grand Line.”

Showrunner Matt Owens, who exited before season three, revealed Manganiello was the first and only choice for the role. In the same interview, Manganiello called Mr. 0 “the flip side of the coin from Luffy. He represents this dark potential future for Luffy."

Pittsburgh native Manganiello has been acting for over two decades. He rose to fame as Flash Thompson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, and went on to star in HBO's True Blood, the Magic Mike saga, How I Met Your Mother, and many more projects. He most recently appeared in Netflix's Nonnas.

Smoker, who was teased at the end of season one, is a new character in season two. Smoker is a Marine Captain on the hunt for Luffy. He's known for his ashy white hair and signature two cigars, and, like Luffy, he is a Devil Fruit user.

Smoker is brought to life by Scottish actor and musician Callum Kerr. He is best known for appearing in Hollyoaks, but his previous credits also include Monarch and Prime Video's The Wheel of Time. Kerr admitted that, prior to joining the show, he didn't know anything about One Piece, but you're going to want to keep an eye on his character (and his fight scenes).

Smoker's Marine subordinate Tashigi, who's known for her expertise in swordsmanship, also gets introduced in the second season. You'll see Tashigi with Smoker and Zoro a lot in season two. Kerr has described the character as “annoying,” although he has also said his character should be nice to her.

Tashigi is portrayed by 30-year-old American actor and singer Julia Rehwald, also known as Julibee. Rehwald is perhaps most familiar for playing Kate Schmidt in the Netflix horror trilogy Fear Street, in which she appeared alongside her One Piece cast mate Rudd. Rehwald is of Filipino and American descent.

Nefertari Cobra, who is briefly introduced in season two, is the monarch of Alabasta. Netflix has said of the character: “In the heart of the Desert Kingdom of Alabasta, where rebellion stirs and secrets are buried, stands a King like no other. Introducing Nefertari Cobra, the pillar of integrity in a kingdom at crossroads.”

Nefertari Cobra is played by 51-year-old Indian American actor Sendhil Ramamurthy, best known for his roles in Heroes, Covert Affairs, and Beauty and the Beast. You might also recognize him as Mohan Vishwakumar, a.k.a the father to Maitreyi Ramakrishnan's Devi, in Netflix's Never Have I Ever. Ramamurthy will also be a series regular for One Piece's third season.

Hailing from South Africa, Igaram is Thomas's first international role, but his acting career spans over a decade with local projects. You can also see him as Max in Netflix's Seriously Single.

When he landed the role, Thomas wrote on his Instagram: “It is an absolute honor [and] a dream come true to be a part of this world.” This is another character you'll want to keep an eye on….

Australian actor Morgan Davies reprises his role as the pink-haired Koby for season two. We first met Koby in season one as Alvida's captive. He was saved by Luffy, who became his friend, before Koby decided to join the Marines under Garp's supervision.

Davies, 24, has been acting since he was a child. His previous projects include The Tree, Storm Boy, The End, and Evil Dead Rise, among other minor projects.

Koby is a major character in Oda's work, so even if he doesn't get as much screen time as others, we're still eager to pay attention to his progress.
