The Oscars 2024 produced a ton of winners — red carpet and best dressed winners, victorious live performances (yes, we're talking about Ryan Gosling's Kenergetic, Marilyn Monroe-inspired takeover), and, of course, official trophy winners. Keep scrolling to check out the full list of Oscar winners 2024.
Leading this year's Oscars nominations list was Christoper Nolan's Oppenheimer with 13 total nods, followed by Yorgos Lanthimos's Poor Things with 11, and Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon with 10. Barbie, the highest grossing film of 2023 — surpassing $1 billion at the global box office — took fourth place with a total of 8 nominations.
Oppenheimer took home the most prizes of the night with 7 wins, including Christopher Nolan for Best Director, Cillian Murphy for Best Actor, and Robert Downey Jr. for Best Supporting Actor. Poor Things star Emma Stone won Best Actress in an upset over predicted winner and Killers of the Flower Moon star Lily Gladstone, and American Fiction won Best Adapted Screenplay over predicted winner Barbie.
Alongside her brother and collaborator Finneas, Billie Eilish was awarded Best Original Song for “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie, shattering records left and right. Eilish is now the first woman to win the Triple Crown of film music twice (Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Globe), the youngest artist to ever win two Oscars before the age of 30 (Eilish is 22), and the youngest person ever in Oscar history to win two Academy Awards… a record that had not been broken in 87 years.
On top of that, Eilish successfully made everyone cry and Ariana Grande scream with her live performance of her winning song during the ceremony. Sounds like a perfect night to me.
The 96th annual Academy Awards were broadcast live on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. See the full list of Oscar winners 2024 below.
