Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline won the Best Kiss award at the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards last night, May 16, and their celebration was nothing short of fitting.
The actors, who also happen to be an IRL couple, decide to celebrate the occasion with a smooch of their own after thanking MTV and their fans for their support. “I feel like there are so many people that I want to thank that I’m not sure of. I’m kinda panicking right now,” Chase says in his speech, just seconds before Madelyn interrupts him with a sweet “shut up” and pulls him closer for a kiss.

Now, was that acting? Was it impromptu? We may never know. Chase and Madelyn’s kiss was on everyone’s lips last night – maybe not as literally as between the two of them – but their kiss during the acceptance speech wasn’t the only one the couple shared during the night. After accepting the golden popcorn trophy, the pair also shared a sweet kiss backstage to immortalize the occasion.
After months and months of heavy shipping and fan speculation, Chase and Madelyn went public with their off-screen relationship in June 2020 via Instagram and have since shared more than a few lovey-dovey appearances on their respective feeds. If you want to see their fictional romance blossom just as much as their IRL relationship, you’re in luck because Outer Banks season 2 is slated to premiere this summer, and Netflix has already put out the first teaser images.
