PinkPantheress made her Coachella debut with fanfare and impeccable style, and she did it all while still recovering from having her wisdom teeth removed.
The musician—who is the face of UGG's newest social-first campaign—has been shaping pop music for years, from a breakout collab with Ice Spice in 2023 to her contribution to the Barbie soundtrack. Her ultra-catchy bop “Illegal” took over TikTok and Instagram last year, amassing over 219 million streams on Spotify. Since then, the award-winning producer has dropped her second mixtape, 2025’s Fancy That, while her recent link-up with Zara Larsson, “Stateside,” has only increased her impact, thanks in part to Alysa Liu’s use of the song in her Olympic Exhibition Gala performance.
Fresh off a concert in Mexico City, the pop sensation took to the stage for Coachella 2026 to tell the story of her quest to find Romeo. Backed by her creative director, Parker—who is also a drag queen—she brought full drama to the performance. “He loves things being super dramatic,” PinkPantheress tells Teen Vogue while on a break from Coachella rehearsals on the Friday before her show. “So he wanted me to go all out for my Coachella performance.”
Below, PinkPantheress talks about what she’s been up to lately, how she made it just in time to Coachella right after a wisdom tooth extraction, and how she styles the new UGG Quill Ballet Sneakers (which she also wore on stage!).
PinkPantheress: So I just came back from Mexico City. And yeah, I just have... Oh, my voice. I just performed in Mexico City. It was amazing. It was such a fun audience. And yeah, I'd love to go back at some point, but that's what I did. So, yeah. And then I'm just rehearsing. I got my wisdom tooth out, so it's a bit hard for me to talk.
PP: It's my second one.
PP: Yeah. It's honestly a bit hard for me to talk. Yeah.
PP: So I did a lot of prep with one of my creative directors called Parker, he's a drag queen. He was showing me a lot about how things need to be the utmost theatrical. He loves theater. He loves things being super dramatic. So he wanted me to go all out drama for my Coachella performance. And so that's kind of what we've learned in a literal sense. It's very dramatic. It's very storytelling, which I love.
PP: I'm essentially on my quest to find my Romeo, so we're going to see it unfold on stage.
PP: Oh no, I wish. That would be great if I had the budget.
PinkPantheress: Anything that Meg Stalter does, I love... So honestly, all of her little videos that she makes on her Instagram is really fun. I literally just found her through Instagram and her standup.
PP: So I wear specifically my UGG ballet flats pretty much every day. I like wearing my UGG ballet flats with a straight leg trouser. And yeah, I pretty much wear [them] wherever I go. Even honestly, I wore them to the beach the other day and now there's sand in them. So I really don't play about those shoes, but I love UGG. I always wear UGG. And I think UGG knows that. I think UGG [is] very aware. So, yeah.
PP: I took it that far.
