The Pokémon Go servers went down this morning following an alleged DDOS attack by a group called Poodlecorp, and do you know what else crashed? Life as we know it.
"Just was a lil test," user XO wrote, after Poodlecorp took credit for the hack. "We will do something on a larger scale soon."

Honestly, it should have been obvious how insane this app was going to get when, mere days after it was released, a girl found a dead body and a group of teens were led straight to an armed robbery. Since then, plenty of other bonkers Pokémon-adjacent things have happened, such as various car accidents or the death of two men who fell off a cliff while trying to catch them all.
Needless to say, the millions of people across 26 countries who planned to spend their Saturdays finding Pokémon are ind of freaking out.
