If this month has taught us anything, it’s that we must immediately plant a garden for the sole purpose of creating hair accessories. First, Rihanna and Beyoncé donned lavish floral headpieces for British Vogue and Vogue covers, respectively. And now the trend has infiltrated New York Fashion Week. Just take it from Rodarte, which sent models down the runway at its Spring/Summer 2019 show with literal floral arrangements in their hair.

As Vogue reported, TRESemmé NYFW Stylist Odile Gilbert wove fresh rosebuds and garlands of varying colors and sizes into the models’s ‘dos, creating 48 unique looks that took about five hours to complete.

The flowers were accented with metallic crowns and birds, and all of the pieces came together for an extravagantly ethereal aesthetic — for which Odile told Fashionista her inspiration was “Romantic!”

Makeup artist James Kaliardos complemented the stunning hair art with bold NARS eye shadows in Domination, Baby Jane, and Douro, three blushes, and NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in the striking red, Don’t Stop, according to Vogue.

Though Rodarte’s hair pieces were certainly showstoppers, it wasn't the only runway where floral hair accessories made an appearance this Fashion Week. At Mansur Gavriel’s September 9 show, a couple of models donned a more delicate take on the trend, with a handful of dainty flowers strewn throughout their locks.

While you may not have a hairstylist on hand who can intricately weave fresh flowers into your hair, it is entirely possible to get in on this trend with some equally romantic hair accessories — and you won’t have to worry about wilting and watering.
