When it comes to making an entrance, Rodnik designers Philip Colbert and Richard Ascott know a thing or two. The dandified young Brits swept through New York City in May 2006, and went from unknown to talk of the town in 48 hours flat. First, they charmed the well-heeled crowd at the Costume Institute's AngloMania gala by carrying two parasols (their signature accessory) hand-painted with a Union Jack design. Next, they were feted at chic decoupage and home-furnishings shop John Derian, where their fall collection was on display. Turns out their clothes turn just as many heads as they do. Rodnik's intricately knitted shawls and floaty white dresses recall Old-World romance, but, thanks to off-handed details like distressed hemlines, they look just right in the here-and-now. Which is exactly where you'll find them: Barneys and Blue Tree in New York City carry the line, and Sienna Miller has already taken one of their dresses for a twirl on the red carpet. —JANE KELTNER
