Ignore the naysayers; nannycore is alive and well, and style queen Sabrina Carpenter seems to agree. After serving Cruella de Vil realness in a black and white fax fur two-piece, Carpenter is now channeling another fashion diva: Fran Fine — a.k.a The Nanny.

Fresh from dropping her first holiday special, Carpenter was spotted arriving at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in New York wearing a black mini skirt and a matching black suit jacket decked with gold coin buttons featuring leopard print faux fur lapels and cuffs. Look familiar? This is no coincidence. The 'fit was Carpenter's nod to Fran Drescher's beloved character's archival Lillie Rubin look and took us right back to 1993.

In fact, it is actually the same outfit Fran wore in the first episode of the famous '90s sitcom The Nanny, which was also used in promotional pics. Even Carpenter's accompanying bag is reminiscent of the bag Fran carries in the first episode of the show.

Fittingly, Carpenter finished the already fierce and fashionable 'fit with her signature bouncy blonde curls, a full face of glam makeup, and a pair of black high heels.

ICYMI: Fran Drescher, who played Fran Fine, told Vogue in 2020 as part of the Life in Looks video series that the leopard suit 'fit was "the definitive 'Nanny-looking costume." And we know Fran Fine was no ordinary nanny — she was full of sass and glamour. No doubt that sass and glamour are fitting for Carpenter.

Fran Fine is most known for her bold, colorful, and retro fashion — and Sabrina Carpenter has certainly been following suit this year, wearing bold and colorful looks throughout her Short n' Sweet Tour and even beyond. She has style, she has flair, she is here!
