Sabrina Carpenter is having a great week. Not only did she just make her runway debut at Vogue World: Paris, but she's also just achieved her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list, and she's making sure to celebrate by doing what he does best: winning the internet.
On June 24, 2024, Sabrina Carpenter's “Please Please Please” officially became the artist's first release to ever top the coveted Billboard Hot 100 list with 50.9 million official streams, 3.2 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 7,000 sales in the U.S. in the past week, as reported by Billboard.
To celebrate her first, Carpenter took to her main Instagram feed, where she shared a carousel of images in honor of “Please Please Please," including a screenshot of a comment by X user @chaserojo that read: “i dont think ive ever seen someone fumble a second single this hard. my goodness.”
They say an image is worth a thousand words, and we are going to have to agree, especially in this. You can't outdo the doer — or out-troll the troll, I guess.

Commenters of Carpenter's post love the inclusion of the last slide as a tongue-in-cheek celebration. “chaserojo’s about to have a terrible week,” choreographer Kiel Tutin commented. “Chase Rojo’s DMs must be scary right now,” someone also commented.
While the original X account the post Carpenter screenshotted and shared seems to have vanished from the social app, fret not because chaserojo has gone cross-platform and commented on the singer's Instagram post: “congrats diva! made me eat my words!”
Jokes aside, Carpenter got candid about her feat in her caption, writing: “MY FIRST #1 on the @billboard HOT 100!!!!!!! And espresso at #4. I’m very immensely grateful so i will surely always remember this day for the rest of my life!”
She also thanked her collaborators Jack Antonoff, Amy Allen, and Laura Sisk in the post, as well as fans who listened to the song, and teased more will be coming soon.

Following her viral hit “Espresso,” Carpenter put out “Please Please Please” on June 7 alongside a music video directed by Bardia Zeinali and starring herself alongside real-life boyfriend Barry Keoghan. Both songs, which have undoubtedly catapulted Carpenter even further into the mainstream, will be part of her upcoming sixth studio album, Short n' Sweet, which is slated for an August 23 release. She will also be embarking on a tour of the same name shortly after its release.
