Selena Gomez is giving garden glamour in her latest look. The actor and musician transformed into a couture iris for a recent Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Rare Impact Fund benefit and the details are so stunning, you should definitely take the time to examine every one.
Gomez donned a hand-embroidered purple dress from Rahul Mishra Couture for the event, posing for photos in the vibrantly colored minidress that looked as though she'd plucked the most beautiful iris in the garden and turned it into a dress, enchanted princess-style. Thousands of tiny sequins in shades of lavender, amethyst and deep purple give the flower depth and dimension, making it shimmer as Gomez moved. She styled it with a simple pair of strappy metallic heels and dangling chandelier earrings to really let the dress take center stage, which was a smart decision; the dress is so stunning, it almost feels like a real life flower.
According to the brand's official Instagram account, the dress isn't just beautiful — it's meaningful too. The piece was part of their fall 2023 couture collection called “We the People,” and the brand shares that the line is “an ode to our fashion workers who articulate the looks at our atelier.” If you look closely at Gomez's dress, the center of the flower is actually a small portrait of tailor Munir Ahmed at work; Rahul Mishra says Ahmed “has been an essential part of our team for over a decade." It's a thoughtful tribute to the hardworking people who make these Instagrammable designs come to life.

Gomez's dress is beyond gorgeous, but so is the initiative behind the event. The Rare Impact Fund was created to raise money for mental health resources for young people, and Gomez recently announced that Sephora is getting involved. On World Mental Health Day, which falls on Oct. 10, Sephora will donate 100% of Rare Beauty sales to the fund.
