Former RIIZE member Seunghan will make his debut as a soloist in 2025, SM Entertainment has announced.

The South Korean entertainment company broke the news of Seunghan's solo debut on November 15, 2024. “Seunghan is currently preparing to debut as a solo artist in the second half of 2025 and is receiving full support and guidance across several aspects considered essential for a solo debut, including systemized training, producing, management, and more,” the company wrote in a statement, both in Korean and English, shared via social media.

The statement continued saying “Seunghan is determined to showcase a new side of himself as he embarks on his journey as a solo artist and carries out his talents and dreams.”

News of Seunghan's upcoming solo debut comes just a month after it was announced that he will permanently leave RIIZE, where he debuted in September 2023. His exit announcement came just two days after it was initially announced that he would be rejoining the group after a quasi-year-long hiatus.

“After pondering deeply whether I’ve been thinking only of myself too much, whether I’m causing too much harm to the members and the company, and whether it’s really okay for me to be part of RIIZE, who should be loved, I only felt worried and apologetic. So I think that my leaving the group is the right path for everyone,” Seunghan wrote in a statement announcing his exit.

“I truly do not want the relationship between RIIZE and BRIIZE, who were growing together while supporting one another, to be damaged because of me," he added. "It also breaks my heart to see the fans, for whom it should be more than enough to just love RIIZE, fighting with each other because of me.”

News of Seunghan's upcoming solo debut is sparking mixed reactions from fans, some of which had launched a petition campaigning for his return to the group and collected over 300K signatures.
