On Tuesday, a devastating 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit Mexico, taking at least 273 lives. Now, Shawn Mendes is hoping to help the community as it begins to rebuild.
The 19-year-old performer has started a CrowdRise campaign to help those affected by the natural disaster. According to Billboard, Shawn and his manangement company AG Artists have already donated $100,000 himself. As of Friday afternoon, over $130,000 has been raised. The money will go to the Red Cross to help them send volunteers, supplies, and other help.
"On September 19, a powerful earthquake shook Mexico and caused devastation in ways that hard to comprehend," he says in a video shared on Twitter promoting the campaign. "I partnered with Red Cross and made an initial donation that I hope inspires people to do the same."

You can also help the earthquake's victims by donating to other groups including UNICEF Mexico, Oxfam Mexico, Save the Children Mexico, and Project Paz.
