According to a new video from Netflix’s Simone Biles: Rising from the 2024 Paris Olympics, Simone Biles could have won yet another gold medal during the gymnastics floor exercise final — but she’s not too pressed about it.
As noted by People, a new video submitted to the Swiss Federal Tribunal as evidence to help Jordan Chiles’s appeal shows another missed scoring inquiry for Biles’s floor routine, which could have put her in the lead instead of Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade, who took home the gold with a 0.033 points advantage. The moment gave us the first-ever gymnastics podium composed of all Black women.
As many took to social media to lament what could have been Biles’s eighth gold medal overall and her fourth in the 2024 Paris Olympics, Biles herself commented on the incident, and her response might be the best thing we’ve seen today.

“Honestly not a big deal for me, Rebeca had a better floor anyways,” Biles said on X. “[It’s] upsetting how it wasn’t processed but I’m not mad at the results,” the athlete added before showing her support for fellow Team USA member and Teen Vogue cover star Jordan Chiles.
Chiles, who was awarded the bronze at the event but later made to give it back, is currently fighting to get the medal back via a formal appeal filed with the Swiss Federal Tribunal.
“Chiles is pursuing her case to encourage the entire Olympic community to take steps to ensure that future Olympians do not face a similar ordeal,” a statement by Chiles's lawyers reads. “Chiles believes in competing fairly and with integrity and holding these organizations to the standards and rules that were established to ensure fairness.”
