Sombr just arrived on the Met Gala 2026 red carpet! The “12 to 12” singer opted for a Valentino look for fashion’s biggest night.
For the Met Gala 2026 dress code, “Fashion Is Art,” honoring the new exhibition theme “Costume Art,” Sombr wore a lace and velvet top with silver and black pants, with a long cape, all by Valentino. He accessorized with pointed-toe shoes. He styled his signature dark brown curls with a slight middle part in his bangs.
Tonight marks Sombr’s Met Gala debut, and his appearance isn’t exactly a shock to fans. He did attend Vogue’s Met Gala pre-party, the First Friday of May, at Madame Tussaud’s in New York City, when he wore an embellished black collared shirt and sunglasses.
Sombr's Met Gala debut is the latest major feat for the “Back to Friends” singer, who is just 20 years old. Last month he made his Coachella debut: For his weekend one performance, he wore a leather jacket and pants embellished with silver accents; for weekend two, he switched to a military-style jacket adorned by metallic shoulder pads with fringe. His pants matched the outerwear with a gold trim. Both outfits were custom Valentino.
Sombr became a Valentino brand ambassador under creative director Alessandro Michele in February. Before the announcement, earlier that same month, he wore two looks by the Italian fashion house to the Grammys: He donned a sparkly silver and pink blazer and matching trousers, with a sheer cream-colored lace mock-neck top underneath on the red carpet; when he took the stage, he had changed into a suit with larger sparkling mirror panels on it, like a disco ball.
With such a momentous start to his year, Sombr’s Met Gala debut is so far the cherry on top. And this look will surely be one to remember!
