Now that filming has officially wrapped on Outer Banks season 4, Madelyn Cline is jumping onto her next project.
Announced on July 22, 2024, by The Hollywood Reporter, Madelyn Cline is officially in talks to join the cast of an upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot alongside Riverdale alum Camila Mendes, Atlanta’s Tyriq Withers, The Little Mermaid's Jonah Hauer-King, and Tiny Beautiful Things' Sarah Pidgeon.
Though no specific roles have been announced just yet, the young cast could be joined by original I Know What You Did Last Summer actors Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr., who played Julie James and Ray Bronson in the beloved 1997 slasher flick and its 1998 sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Back in February, The Hollywood Reporter caught wind that the two actors were in talks to reprise their roles for the reboot, which we now know is targeting a release on July 18, 2025.
The I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot is currently in the works at Sony Pictures, with Do Revenge's Jennifer Kaytin Robinson attached to the project as a director. She co-wrote the screenplay for the project alongside Sam Lansky after an original script by Leah McKendrick. Neal Moritz, who also worked as a producer on the original I Know What You Did Last Summer, is also set to produce the reboot.
