Wrapped is Spotify's most well-known franchise, the yearly amalgamation of data that Spotify's engineers sift through to churn out your top 100 songs, most-streamed musicians, and various projected personality ephemera based all the things you listened to this year. How to see your 2023 Spotify Wrapped
You know the drill: the Wrapped experience is primarily in the Spotify mobile app and should auto-appear when you open it and be available on your homepage. Note that your app needs to be updated to the latest version to be able to see it.
You can also view your results via the web app version, at spotify.com/Wrapped.
What are the new features for Spotify Wrapped 2023?
Spotify has a few new tricks up its sleeves in the Wrapped experience this year to go along with the usual top artists, genres, songs, and podcasts.
First, there's Me in 2023, which gives you a character archetype based on the way you streamed in 2023. Did you make a ton of playlists? You're the Alchemist. Did you hop from one singer to the next with reckless abandon? You're the Shapeshifter. Do you listen to emotional, atmospheric music in the dark? Yep, you're the vampire. Say it, out loud.
Next, travel across the globe with Sound Town, a feature that gives you a city to align with both the artists you love and the fans who love them. My appreciation for Chappell Roan, boygenius, and Ethel Cain brought me to… Cambridge, Massachusetts.
And an updated Top 5 Artists lets you know exactly when you peaked with a certain artist — like Taylor Swift in November with the 1989 Taylor's Version vault tracks, or Chappell Roan when I saw her in concert in March. Plus, you'll be rewarded for your top listening habits with an artist thank you message that Spotify revealed might contain clues about new music releases or tour announcements. More surprises await over on the app.
What is up with those Taylor Swift Spotify easter eggs?
Spotify took a page out of Swift's book and hid clues in the Wrapped billboards and promotional materials: two dice, a snake, an eye with 1989 birds inside of it, for example. Swifties quickly clocked the hints, and the reason for them is…
Who is the top artist on Spotify in 2023?
Yes, indeed, Taylor Swift is the most-streamed artist in the world on Spotify this year. Forever the name on everyone's lips, Swift has dominated the charts with music old and new, plus that tiny tour she has going on. In a fun little feature for Swifties, when you listen to a Swift song on Spotify, the progress bar will turn the color of the song's era and begin to sparkle.
