As the flowers bloom for spring, sometimes we want to give ourselves a little makeover, too. So, we rounded up some spring makeup trends to try out this season.
We've seen these looks on all of the hottest celebrities and runways throughout the winter. From cloud skin to grunge makeup, some of the hottest beauty trends of the season happen to be super easy to recreate at home. Now that the weather is getting warmer and everyone is stepping out, we're ready to give these spring makeup looks a try for ourselves.

While these trends might be popular, what’s most important is finding a look that makes you feel your best. “We are starting to see more people explore their own versions of today’s trends, rather than merely recreating them,” Euphoria makeup artist and Half Magic co-founder Donni Davy tells Teen Vogue.
Below, we have rounded up 16 spring makeup looks we're totally loving right now. Scroll on for some beauty inspo for the new spring season — and you might even get some graduation makeup ideas, too)!
1. Cloud Skin
We've been on a 2000s revival kick for a bit now, but the late 2010s are slowly creeping back, too. A prime example is the return of matte foundation, but with an upgrade, thankfully. The cloud skin trend is about getting a nice subtle glow with a sheer matte finish, and it's taking over TikTok.
2. Color-Coordination
Monochrome and color-coordinated looks are having a moment in fashion and now beauty, too. Bonus points go to Olivia Rodrigo for not only being an A+ student in matching her makeup and outfit but even matching her nails and makeup too. If you're feeling really bold, you can even extend the trend to your hair.
3. Pink Cloud Blush
The start of spring means more colors and warmer weather, perfect timing for the strong blush trend. A nice touch of blush can add another element of color to our looks and help achieve a dreamy, sunkissed look. As opposed to prior years where we packed the blush on, we're looking for a more subtle look this year, largely influenced by the viral Patrick Ta blush hack. Similar to cloud skin, we want the glow to look more subtle, as if it's occurring naturally. This trend was a major one at New York Fashion Week, and we've been spotting it on celebrities like BLACKPINK's Lisa.
4. Soft Glam
As the weather starts to get hotter, we sometimes feel like wearing lighter makeup. Luckily, soft glam is in right now. If you need a few tips on how to make it work, you're in luck because TWICE's Jihyo already gave us a tutorial.
5. Let's Glow
We're going to be magpies this spring. According to Davy, “sparkle and shimmer is a major trend — think glossy lips, glitter and gems.” And who could possibly know better than her? After all, she brought the glitter to Euphoria, and now, she's bringing it to our very own makeup bags with her brand Half Magic, so you can recreate this trend at home. "Our MAGIC DRIP Glitter Lip Gloss is an ultra-reflective lip gloss packed with multicolored pearls that catch the light at every angle. For liner, you can apply GLITTERPILL Eye Paint and Liner directly to your lids, lining your lashes, or you can layer it over black (or any color) eyeliner. After applying the glitter, I love to use a fan to help it dry quickly.”
6. Powerful Pinks
Between the blooming flowers and matching spring makeup trends, pink is perfect for the season. It's no secret that pink is having a moment thanks to Barbiecore and the brief return of King Kylie. We're already seeing it become a focal point for this spring. Ariana Grande went all out with a pink monochrome look for the Oscars with a Glinda-inspired look.
7. Winged Eyeliner
Of course, winged eyeliner never went out of style, but when makeup as a whole scaled back in 2020, our wings got a little smaller, shorter, and thinner, too. Now that the 2010s are making a comeback, the big, dramatic wings are too, as exemplified on the NYFW runways. Don't fret! Davy explains, “Winged eyeliner has been a consistent trend, but getting perfectly angled, crisp, sharp wings can be hard for even the pros. I like to use Half Magic’s Magic Flik, which has an ultra-sharp edge and curved shape that really hugs your lash line and lets you easily reach the corners of your eyes. Remove the guide and fill in the top of the wing, connecting it to the upper lash line.”
8. Smudged Eyeliner
If precision and getting two eyeliner wings to look symmetrical really isn't your thing, you're in luck. Smudged liner is still in. We're lining our eyes and smoking it out ever so slightly — similar to traditional kajal or kohl — for an edgy look. However, if it's not edgy enough for you, go ahead and scroll down to number 16.
9. Neutrals
You might think spring means we're going to start incorporating tons of color back into our style. Think again. Neutrals still have plenty of purpose in our beauty routines, and this year, we're going to see them a lot. Nude shades can add a bit of warmth to the look, making our sun-deprived skin look a little less pale as we start to head outside again. If it seems like a color that's hard to rock, just take some tips from Dua Lipa, who best explained why her favorite brown lipstick is a versatile essential she keeps in her bag at all times.
10. Ultra Glossy Lips
Lip gloss reigns supreme. As we previously reported, lip glosses are still particularly popular among Gen Z. And countless beauty brands are releasing new ones to keep up with demand. So, it's safe to say that we're expecting to see this trend carry on into spring. However, we might see them in darker shades this year, according to Patrick Ta, celebrity-favorite makeup artist and founder of the namesake beauty brand. “A defined glossy lip is always in season, and I love how people are fully embracing the super glossed look more than ever,” Ta tells Teen Vogue. “I’ve specifically been loving richer colored glosses for the lips this spring as opposed to your typical clear gloss pout. It’s something I’ve been really leaning into this season, which is why I created our new Rich Major Volume Plumping Gloss shades, which gives the lips a jewel-toned and stunning glossy look.”
11. Vampy Reds
Maybe it's the Olivia Rodrigo effect or Hailey Bieber's influence, but we're seeing vampire-esque reds and purples take new life. (We said the 2010s were making a comeback.) We spotted this trend on celebrities throughout fashion month, including Zendaya, Emma Chamberlain and Barbara Palvin. The timing could not be better because you can now get a Jennie-endorsed red lip on Amazon, and it happens to fit the trend quite well.
12. Golden Hour
Don't wait around for golden hour this spring — just replicate the effect of a sunset on your face with makeup. As Ta explains, “Golden Hour-inspired makeup is a look that flatters everyone, it gives skin that enviable, sun-kissed effect when done right.” Shades of contour, highlighter, blush, and eyeshadow with warm-toned bronze, peach, and champagne hues will help you achieve this look. “I love using my new blush duo. It’s my go-to shade of the season in ‘She's The Moment,’ which is an approachable peachy-coral color that kisses the cheeks and brings warmth to the face, creating that glowing, natural look," Ta shares. "To top it off, I also love reaching for my Major Glow Balm in ‘She’s On Vacation' to apply all over the skin for an added golden glow.”
13. Something Blue
According to Pinterest's 2024 predictions, we need to get a little blue going on this spring. A trend report from the social media app found that “blue eyeshadow aesthetic” and “aqua makeup look” major increases in searches. We're already seeing proof of it, with blue makeup appearing on major red carpets, fashion shows, and more. Just recently, Lupita Nyong'o wore a sparkly blue shade to the Vanity Fair Oscars Party.
14. Clustered Eyelashes
Douyin makeup has been taking over TikTok, and many elements of it have become popular in the mainstream as well including the blush and eyeliner techniques. Now, we're seeing clustered eyelashes becoming more popular as well. Keke Palmer stepped out earlier this year with the look, and more recently, Lancôme ambassador Joy Sunday did too.
15. Barely There Brows
Brows are also becoming more low-key this spring as the thin look takes over TikTok thanks to filters and Y2K-inspired trends. We’re seeing plucked and bleached brows on some of our favorite celebrities, too — most notably, PinkPantheress and Saweetie.
16. Grunge Makeup
With the Wednesdaycore and anti-mascara trends going viral all over social media, it was only a matter of time before grunge makeup came back. This look is a classic, but it got new wings thanks to stars like Jenna Ortega, Megan Fox, and more. Sharpen your eyeliner pencils and get ready to blend out an extreme smokey eye.
