This bodes well for the last season.

We're getting closer and closer to the end of Stranger Things, with season 5 on the horizon. The massively popular Netflix series' fifth season has been in the works for some time, and now star David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper, has shed some light on what we have to look forward regarding the finale. Pro tip: Get your tissues ready.

Harbour told People that season 5, episode 8 — aka the final episode of Stranger Things ever is “the best episode they’ve ever done.” According to the actor, the table read for the episode was incredibly emotional for the cast. “The end of this episode when we were reading it — just us reading it — about halfway through, people started crying,” he explained. “Then about the last 20 minutes, it was just uncontrollably crying, waves of different people. Noah Schnapp being my favorite.”

The actor went on to say that he understood the emotional response. “I think part of that also is the fact that these kids, it was their childhood," he said. Stranger Things began in 2016 when its main cast were all tweens or young teens, and now they're all in their twenties; Millie Bobby Brown is even married!

Nearly a decade has passed since we first met the kids from Hawkins, and according to Harbour, the episode will touch on the passage of time and how much has changed since Will Byers vanished and Eleven showed up. “It's 10 years later, and we examine that idea, and it's so well done and so beautiful,” he shared. “It's such a great episode, and it's such a great season. You guys will love it."

However, we've likely still got awhile to wait; there's no concrete release date for Stranger Things season five, though actor Finn Wolfhard recently shared that they're “almost done shooting” the final chapter. Sounds like it's time for a rewatch of the first four seasons!
