Stray Kids member Hyunjin will never miss an opportunity to make a beauty statement, and his latest look is the perfect proof. In the past, the star has surprised fans with everything from DIY manicures to Versace-themed hair dyes. Now, he's upping up the ante, incorporating a spiderweb design into his buzzcut.
Hyunjin unveiled his new hairdo over the weekend while performing at São Paulo's Estádio MorumBIS during the Stray Kids <dominATE> world tour. As captured in fan videos and photos from the night, the star took to the stage with an upgrade to his newly dyed black buzzcut: an undercut “hair tattoo” of a spiderweb design shaved right above the nape of his neck.
As soon as Hyunjin's new hairdo started circling around social media, fans were immediately obsessed. “This is f*cking sick wtf,” someone said, quote-retweeting a picture of the design. “He stays just serving iconic look after iconic look, tbh,” another one added. And we're going to have to agree.
Hyunjin's new design goes perfectly with both the tour and his personal aesthetic and is probably inspired by Stray Kids' song “거미줄," off the group's 2022 album Oddinary.
Though the title of the song was translated to “VENOM" in English, the Korean word used in the original name literally translates into spiderweb. The song itself also features arachnid references galore — including a one and only “spider” in English, delivered by Hyunjin himself.
Though the song was not part of the main <dominATE> setlist in previous iterations of the tour concert in Asia and Australia, it has since been moved to a TEAM SKZ dance medley portion during the group's most recent shows in Latin America. However, Hyunjin is singlehandedly making everyone remember it with his look. Now, will the spiderweb stay, or will we get another design as the tour progresses?
