Sydney Sweeney just can't get enough of the knee-high stocking look, even when the temperature keeps rising.

The actor has been spotted wearing knee-highs several times this year, starting in March, when she wore trompe l'oeil lace knee-high boot-stockings on the red carpet at the SXSW premiere of her movie Immaculate.

In May, she was snapped out and about in New York City wearing taupe gray embroidered hot pants, an oversized pewter jacket, a light gray shirt, and super sheer white stockings paired with white pointed-toe pumps — a twist on the business casual office siren vibe.

In July, Sweeney headed to Paris, where we spotted her in a cream-colored jacket with icy blue stockings and matching baby blue ankle-strap pumps.

The stockings are an easy styling hack and a simple way to make your outfit pop without trying super hard; all you have to do is pull them on and go. Sweeney typically wears them with dresses and shorts that show a lot of leg and prefers stockings that hit right below the knee, sticking to pale colors like white and blue versus black. Plus, because they're so sheer, they're probably not too heavy on a hot day, so you could definitely wear them for a night out in summertime.

However, Sweeney was just spotted wearing another calf-covering garment while out and about in Los Angeles, one that may be less breathable and cool on a hot summer day: knee-high boots!

For a day out with her fiancé Jonathan Davino, Sweeney wore a pair of brown boots with cream shorts and a short-sleeved cashmere sweater and wrapped another sweater around her shoulders because it gets very cold in California in August. But hey, we all make sacrifices for a great outfit, right?
