Taylor Swift is teaming up with Ice Spice on a remix of her Midnights song "Karma," and the two stars are donning their best crystal-covered catsuits for the occasion.
Swift shared the news of the collab on Instagram, saying she, like pretty much everyone else on earth, is all about Ice Spice. "I’m a massive fan of this brilliant artist and after getting to know her I can confirm: she is THE ONE to watch," Swift wrote in her post next to a promo pic of herself and the rapper reigning over space together. According to Swift, the "Karma ft. Ice Spice" remix drops on May 25 at midnight ET, as part of the latest Midnights re-release, the 'Til Dawn Edition.
It's certainly interesting timing for the collaboration, given the fact that Swift's current romantic entanglement is with Matty Healy of The 1975. Earlier this year while appearing on The Adam Friedland Show, Healy made derogatory comments about Ice's ethnicity and appearance and mocked her accent, remarks that many received as racist. The episode was later pulled from Spotify and Apple, Billboard notes.
Healy talked about the incident at a concert in April, making a public apology… of sorts. “I just feel a bit bad, and I’m kind of a bit sorry if I’ve offended you,” Healy said at the time. “Ice Spice, I’m sorry. It’s not because I’m annoyed that me joking got misconstrued. It’s because I don’t want Ice Spice to think I’m a d*ck. I love you, Ice Spice. I’m so sorry. I don’t want it to be misconstrued as mean. I don’t mind being a bit of a joker… but I am genuinely sorry if I’ve upset them because I f*cking love them."
