Joe Jonas will unfortunately now have photo proof of Taylor Swift being thick as thieves with his (soon-to-be) ex-wife Sophie Turner. Taylor Swift and Sophie Turner were photographed hanging out together in New York City on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
The photo, shared by PopBase, is a fun one — Swift and Turner are arm-in-arm, heads down and slightly smirking as though they know exactly what they're doing. (They had just had dinner with friends at the West Village trattoria Via Carota.) Meanwhile, fans crowd around them and take photos, with one person in a matching tracksuit set just grinning. As @kendallhosseini on Twitter wrote, “sophie turner and taylor swift had the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever and they did.” And yes, Turner was dressed for revenge.

Swift and Turner's paparazzi move comes in the aftermath of Jonas and Turner's announcement of their impending divorce back on Sept. 6. “After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” the statement reads. “There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.” Those “speculative narratives” have included various “source close to” anecdotes about alleged Ring camera drama and partying. In the official divorce filing, Jonas, 34, referred to their marriage as “irretrievably broken."
Taylor Swift and Sophie Turner likely had much to talk about, seeing as Swift and Jonas dated way back in 2008 (cue: the infamous brief phone call breakup). It's likely Swift wrote Fearless (Taylor's Version) vault track “Mr. Perfectly Fine” about him; after the song came out in 2021, Turner shared it to her Instagram Stories, writing, “It's not NOT a bop.” At the time, Swift responded to the GoT actress in kind: “Forever bending the knee for the [queen] of the North.”
Turner has been a longstanding Swift supporter, however, especially as Jonas and Swift seemingly buried the hatchet and resumed a friendship around the time Gigi Hadid began dating Jonas in 2015. Turner defended Swift's inclusion in TIME's Silence Breakers issue back in 2017 ("You are heard. And we believe you and stand with you") and also rang in her 22nd birthday with the classic Swift quote.
In conclusion, this friendship and photo-op totally makes sense — and Taylor Swift is on her vigilante sh*t again.
