Taylor Swift is definitely in her “Bejeweled” era, and she proved it yet again by attending the MTV EMAs in not one, but two, sparkling ensembles.
Swift stepped out on the red carpet in Düsseldorf ahead of the awards ceremony – completely unannounced – in a black bodysuit paired with a chainmail-style skirt dotted with twinkling emerald gems.
The outfit was custom designed for her by English designer David Koma, whose bold and celestial designs she’s worn multiple times during promotions for her “Midnights” album. A green smokey cat-eye (drawn sharp enough to kill a man) with gold shimmery eyeshadow tied the entire look together.
After accepting wins on-stage in the daring first look, the icon changed into a second glittery look by David Koma, this time a collared short sleeve mini-dress. Swift posed backstage in the updated ensemble with her four awards from the night, and the silver sequins of the dress complimented her trophies fabulously.
As the reigning queen of incorporating cryptic Easter eggs into her songs and appearances for fans, Swift has admitted before that she loves to incorporate hints for her next move into her outfits. With a diamond shaped pattern on the skirt of her bold red carpet outfit resembling snakeskin, perhaps the star is hinting that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) is next up on her list of re-recorded albums? We’re keeping our fingers crossed!
