The Summer I Turned Pretty has gone from a beloved young adult show to a widespread phenomenon. The show's third season drew millions of viewers, attracted new fans, and sparked a passionate debate about Team Conrad versus Team Jeremiah in the show's central love triangle plot. While social media has become flooded with fan opinions and theories, brands have now gotten involved, declaring their allegiance to one brother over the other.

This week, the Boston Red Sox firmly declared themselves as Team Conrad — the older Fisher brother — by bringing actor Christopher Briney on the field to meet the team. The show largely takes place in a fictional Massachusetts town called Cousins, but Boston and the surrounding New England area are a large part of the setting. It was only a matter of time before the team got involved, and they did so by bringing one of the main characters to a game.

Even though they were on enemy turf at Yankee Stadium in New York City, Briney wore a Red Sox jersey and hat. The official Red Sox social media account shared multiple photos and videos of Briney meeting the team's star player, Jarren Duran. In the caption on Instagram, the Red Sox wrote, “Team Conrad.”

Briney grew up in the New England area, which means he's likely been a Red Sox fan his whole life. In another video shared on the official Red Sox TikTok, Briney says to the camera, “What's up, I'm Chris Briney and I'm a Red Sox fan.”

He continued: “Let's go Sox. Let's play some October baseball.”

The team's TikTok account also shared a video of Briney meeting Duran, and the actor is telling the player that he watched the Netflix documentary, The Clubhouse: A Year with the Red Sox, which focused on Duran's journey as a player. Duran joked that he hadn't watched it and Briney said, “I don't watch myself either. I hate watching myself.”

Meanwhile, the team's nemesis — the Yankees — shared photos and videos of Sean Kaufman, who plays Belly's older brother Steven Conklin, along with Minnie Mills, who played Shayla in season one of The Summer I Turned Pretty. The actors are rumored to be dating. The Yankees captioned the post, “The Summer I Came to Yankee Stadium.” They also had a photo of a custom Yankees hat with the hashtag, Team Steven stitched into it.

While two of the most popular MLB teams have taken sides on The Summer I Turned Pretty, other brands have also taken a hard stance. Delta Airlines shared a carousel of photos that said, “seats we would assign the boys,” with Conrad being in a first-class seat and Jeremiah being in the toilet. Others including Sour Patch Kids, Tinder, and more have all taken sides in the love triangle.
