The Summer I Turned Pretty star Lola Tung was in the city for the New York Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2025 season and made the most of it. From watching the U.S. Open alongside Suni Lee to sitting on the Coach and Tory Burch front rows, Tung was booked and busy. Still, the 21-year-old actor had time to spill some unexpected details about what her character, Belly, would be wearing in the upcoming season of the hit Amazon series.
Before heading to the Coach show on Sept. 9, 2024, Tung let the Vogue cameras follow her as she got ready with the help of makeup artist Misha Shahzada and hair stylist Dana Boyer. In between segments of her glam team explaining her look, Tung took a moment to talk about season three of her show.

Tung began by sharing that her own personal style, reflected by the slicked-back bun, oversized blazer and knee-high sheer socks she wore that day, is very different from Belly's. As we’ve seen over the past two seasons, Belly loves a casual cool beach look, especially when it consists of shorts and tees or tank tops with a sweater thrown on during the nighttime breeze.
However, Tung goes on to add that their styles do sometimes overlap, and she cheekily says we might see more of it. Then, she gets visibly excited before pausing to ponder if she’s about to reveal a spoiler. After building up anticipation, she finally revealed a major plot twist! Belly will be wearing the same helix piercing that Tung already has.
Given Belly’s signature style is full of dainty, colorful pieces, the idea of seeing Belly with a new piercing does come as a bit of a shock. Is Belly getting a makeover? Is she going through a rebellious phase? Did Taylor convince her to get it on a whim?
All we know is that this new season can't come fast enough because we can’t wait to see what Belly will be wearing in The Summer I Turned Pretty. In the meantime, we’ll be watching Tung’s Vogue video!
