Here at Teen Vogue, we’ve tried many beauty products. When it comes to lips, Tower 28 is always at the tip of our tongues. So, the Tower 28 LipSoftie Hydrating Tinted Lip Treatment Balm was on our radars immediately.
The Tower 28 ShineOn Lip Jelly is one of our tried and true go-to lip glosses and has become a personal favorite for many of the editors as well. So, when we heard that Tower 28 was launching a new lip product, the LipSoftie Hydrating Tinted Lip Treatment Balm, we were tuned in.
The brand describes the new product as a vegan lip treatment created with food-grade, non-artificial flavoring so that it can be used on sensitive skin without causing irritation or dryness. Its ingredients include shea butter, jojoba, and lysine which are meant to soothe the lips, restore hydration, and prevent further dryness. It retails for $16 at Sephora, which is the same price as rhode's and Topicals' viral lip products as well.
Of course, we had to get our hands on it and give it a try ourselves. Does it meet the standard Tower 28 has set for themselves? Does it live up to the social media hype? Is it worst the cost? Is this our new favorite lippie? Will the Sephora kids buy all of these? Read all of our thoughts about the Tower 28 LipSoftie™ Hydrating Tinted Lip Treatment Balm below.
Blood Orange Vanilla LipSoftie
For starters, I love the pigment of these lip glosses. Super bright, shiny and fun. It’s not sticky at all (I may be in the minority but I like some tackiness in my gloss so I almost wish there was more). I also love the tube itself, it’s very ‘00s nostalgia with the rounded applicator top. I only wish I didn’t wear off so quickly since I love how it looks — I honestly think I’d go through the whole tube more quickly than I’d like! — Alyssa Hardy, Contributing Editor
Watermelon Kiwi LipSoftie
I just found my new favorite lip balm for no makeup days. I can’t lie, at first I wasn’t sure what to expect because the pigment looked super concentrated when I first squeezed the product out of the bottle. But when I applied it, it gave me a “my lips but better” vibe. The shade color matches me perfectly, so this is ideal for those more low-key days when I work from home. Plus, it’s super nourishing, which is absolutely key as I still combat dry lips at the tail end of winter. Overall, this is a great, subtle option when your goal is low effort but major hydration. — Jillian Selzer, Social Media Manager
Ube Vanilla LipSoftie
The smell of the Ube Vanilla LipSoftie Lip Treatment is heavenly, sweet without being cloying. Between the scent and the spherical applicator, there's a delightful nostalgia here, and the Ube color fits perfectly in my current wheelhouse of rich Clinique Black Honey-esque burgundies. It's also surprisingly long-lasting both in color and moisturizing ability. My only gripe is that it doesn't seem like there's that much product in the tube, or maybe I'm just heavy-handed with the application — either way, the $16 price point means I can restock and try every shade without destroying my budget. — Claire Dodson, Senior Entertainment Editor
Dulce De Leche LipSoftie
I am a lippie queen. There is not a lip gloss, serum, chapstick I haven’t tried. So, I was excited to get my hands on the Tower28 lippie. I tried out the Dulce De Leche flavor and it was quite flavorful. I loved the sweet smell it had and it applied very easily, which is always a plus. — Aiyana Ishmael, Associate Editor
