There's something so timelessly chic about a monochrome outfit — and TWICE's Jihyo knows it well. In the late 2010s, the head-to-toe look was the reigning trend, with our favorite street-style stars wearing matching sets pretty much everywhere. The monochromatic look has evolved over the years, and Jihyo just gave it a modern twist.

TWICE leader Jihyo attended the AMI menswear fashion show in Paris on January 18 wearing a minimalist dove gray midi sheath dress with a thigh slit. The dress felt very '90s in both color and silhouette, what with the sleeveless tank bodice and slim-fitting, longer-length skirt. The singer paired her dress with a matching AMI Paris bag, a structured mini bag with a top handle and gold heart detail. (The bag retails for a little over $1,090.)

Instead of wearing a similar hue on her feet, Jihyo opted to ground the taupe palette with a pair of black shoes, slipping into a classic pair of ankle-strap pumps with a pointed toe — also very '90s in tone, just like her hair and makeup. She pulled her hair back in a simple twist updo and wore minimal makeup, plus a pair of chic gold hoops. Easy, effortless, wearable anywhere and everywhere.

Monochrome ‘fits will probably never go away, and we’re thrilled about that. It's an easy way to get dressed, always looks stylish, and works for a variety of occasions. Plus, it doesn't have to be limited to neutral tones or all-black, either. In late 2023, BLACKPINK's Rosé co-signed the look with a cozy head-to-toe mocha outfit, and Hailey Bieber did the same shortly thereafter. Sabrina Carpenter tried out blue-on-blue in a music video, and Keke Palmer went red with a latex dress and matching gloves. Whether you take a cue from Jihyo and go minimalist or lean into bright color, if you're wearing the same shade from your sweater to your shoes, you're good to go. Tonal dressing FTW!
