Whenever she enters the room, no one can ignore Tyla — and that's not just a mere saying. When celebrities hit a red carpet, it is not easy to attract attention among the many invitees. Yet, Tyla always manages to do it. On October 15, she did just so when she attended the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2024 in a hot pink dress complete with an asymmetrical cut, daring slits, and light draping. And she did it again last night during the CFDA Awards 2024, where she went for risqué but flawless styling.
The singer and songwriter pulled out an archive dress (an LBD) that dates back to Tom Ford's time at Gucci (1994-2004). The design, very short and featuring mainly black lace, not only complemented but also insinuated Tyla's silhouette, thanks to its sheer fabric, and she made the most of the effect by adding neon brat green underpants to the bottom half of her look. The green pop of color gave the look a modern and fresh touch, a commendable feat since black lace is not always easy to pull off — let alone reinvent.
Of course, Tyla complemented her daring look with even more daring beauty. On the makeup front, she rocked a black cat-eye complemented with '60s mod-esque light blue eye shadow. She kept the rest of her base understated, opting for a mix of peachy and plummy shades on her lips.
Tyla finished the look with a super high ponytail, a square brown French tip mani tapping into the animal print trend, and white diamond jewelry, which she matched to her belly and nose piercings.
A look wouldn't be complete without some shoes. For the occasion, Tyla opted for a pair of black strappy sandals with very thin and very high heels. All in all, her look was deceivingly simple, with multiple components difficult to emulate but super effective execution. There is no doubt about it.
