Last week, Teen Vogue took the Italian adventure of a lifetime, journeying from Naples to Sorrento to Positano to Capri and back to sneak preview the new Uber Boat and Uber Copter round-trip getaways launching to the public later this summer.
Trekking through Southern Italy is like stepping into a living postcard. The dazzling Gulf of Sorrento welcomed us as we arrived at Hotel Belair, one of the many accommodations literally built into the coastal city’s cliffside. There was so much blue to take in — and soon enough, our group would be immersed in every shade of Italian blue, taking on the Amalfi Coast by both sky and sea.
The launch of Uber Copter and Uber Boat on the Amalfi Coast is one of the most highly-anticipated travel offerings in Europe as the service continues to expand across the globe, leaning deeper into its motto of “Go Anywhere.” According to Uber, more than 5 million people are expected to travel to the Amalfi Coast during summer 2025.
“Italy is fast becoming one of our most popular tourist destinations, with travelers turning to the Uber app to help make their holiday travel stress-free,” Anabel Diaz, vice president of EMEA Mobility at Uber, says. “We’re adding a series of unforgettable experiences that will make travelling by land, sea or air more magical than ever before.”
And magical is the perfect word: our group got to absorb all of the Amalfi Coast’s historic, mythical beauty with zero travel-induced stress, zero crowds, and zero logistical anxieties. Uber will offer seamless booking for private taxi transfers (Uber Reserve), Uber Boat, and Uber Copter, allowing Amalfi travelers to focus on exploration and relaxation.
We took a day trip from Sorrento to Positano and instead of riding a congested bus or ferry to Positano, we Ubered to Sorrento Port and set sail along the coast on Uber Boat, a private luxury charter — a chic Italian Gozzo 35. We leisurely cruised past historic Roman ruins, hidden grottos, and breathtaking cliff sides as our skippers swapped Italian lore, pointing out exactly where Ulysses resisted the sirens in Homer’s Odyssey. We swam in that same lagoon of mermaids, ate the freshest seafood pasta while overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Positano, and floated effortlessly off the unspoiled shore of Tordigliano Beach.
Upon returning to Sorrento, our group Ubered to the center of Sorrento to O’Parrucchiano, an 1800s-era restaurant built within a real lemon grove, for a traditional Italian dinner. As night fell, we strolled through Sorrento sunkissed and hair still briny, drunk on gelato and full of pasta — it seemed impossible to top the Uber Boat experience, but Uber Coptering to Capri was the true climax of the trip.
The next day, we took another private Uber transfer to the helipad, heading up, up, and up the winding roads of Sorrento to get as close to the sky as possible. The Uber Copter, a private dual-engine, dual-pilot helicopter, sat waiting for us. Once boarded, the luxury rotorcraft almost seemed to vibrate with anticipation; it was nearly everyone’s first helicopter ride, and we had no idea what to expect. Our breathing rapid and eager like helicopter blade gusts, we all prepared for a startling launch into the air — it never came.
The helicopter ride to Capri was the smoothest and easiest glide, with a takeoff and landing more tranquil than any plane ride this frequent flyer had ever experienced. Uber Copter delivered the most exquisite views of the Amalfi Coast, providing elite perspectives of the spectacular colors of Southern Italy: pastel villages born into the sun-bleached cliffside, mossy woodlands, turquoise shorelines. The trip from Sorrento to Capri took a little over 10 minutes, beating the 30-minute overstuffed ferry route from the mainland.

We spent the day at Capri’s Lido del Faro, an exclusive beach club tucked away like a Mediterranean secret with pristine waters and a gorgeous, scenic overlook. The helicopter ride back to Sorrento was even more stunning, as our nerves were replaced by awe.
