Vans and Opening Ceremony are coming together for a collaboration like we’ve never seen before. The two brands have joined forces before, but this will be the first capsule that will be available to a global audience.
Like the past partnerships, this capsule is both creative and distinctive, while purposely depicting both of their unique assets in the clothing and accessories. Both Vans and Opening Ceremony have a creative approach to design and that was captured in this partnership. “Vans has been a long-time creative partner of ours, and we're so excited to collaborate on their iconic print this season,” says Humberto Leon, Opening Ceremony's creative director, in a press release.
To accompany the collection's announcement, the brands also unveiled a lifestyle campaign shot by Taiwan-based Malaysian-Chinese photographer Zhong Lin, featuring his friends wearing the designs.
From Vans’s reworked signature checkerboard to Opening Ceremony’s cool and airy jogger sets, the capsule is a perfect blend of the two worlds. Think printed and textured kicks and patterned co-ord sets! The apparel and accessories capsule features two new patterns that Vans fans have never seen before, including an abstract snake print and leopard. The shoes remain to take on Vans’s original look, but Opening Ceremony elevates the footwear with multiple patterns and prints.
Not to mention, the leopard print is also emblazoned on accessories like a nylon tote bag and a tracksuit with a relaxed fit, similar to what we know Opening Ceremony’s current apparel to be. The campaign images show both the footwear and apparel styled together for creative looks inspired by the collection.
We can’t get our hands on the collection just yet, but they will be available on Vans.com and at Vans retail stores starting February 19 so start choosing your favorite products because we have a feeling they’ll go fast!
