It may be hard to find moments in Thursday night’s trainwreck of a presidential debate that stand out amidst all the noise, but there is one that has people on social media particularly puzzled: former President Donald Trump talking about “Black jobs.”

When asked by the moderators about his appeal to Black voters, Trump answered: “The fact is that [Biden’s] big kill on the Black people is the millions of people that he’s allowed to come in through the border,” Trump said during the debate. “They’re taking Black jobs now — and it could be 18, it could be 19 and even 20 million people. They’re taking Black jobs, and they’re taking Hispanic jobs, and you haven’t seen it yet, but you’re gonna see something that’s going to be the worst in our history.”

The internet is now wondering what exactly a “Black job” or “Hispanic job” is. Trump’s words rightfully sent social media into a whirlpool of jokes and discussions. Whether leaning into the comedic aspect of it all, diving into the nitty gritty of just how racist the phrase is, or turning it on its head and proudly proclaiming what their “Black jobs” are, we’ve gathered up the internet’s thoughts around the debacle.
