Never underestimate the perils of fashion.

It's not every day that we get updates from Zayn Malik, but we have Men's Fashion Week (and a little mishap) to thank for the change in 2024.

ICYMI: the former One Direction member has been gallivanting around Paris for the past few days, sitting front row at Valentino, Loewe, and more, but his very first show of the season was Kenzo, where he actually got run over by a car. Well, his foot anyway.

On Friday, January 19, Zayn Malik attended Kenzo's fall-winter 2024-2025 show at Paris's Bibliothèque Nationale clad in a blue patterned jacket and matching pants designed by Nigo, the house's artistic director.

Zayn paired the tonal 'fit with a white button-down and a pair of crispy white sneakers. Leaving the event, however, the star's foot got run over by a car trying to beat the crowds — fret not, he's fine — leaving his footwear of choice, well, not as white.

In a video captured on social media, Zayn can be seen slithering in between the sea of people outside the Bibliothèque Nationale flanked by two bodyguards. As paparazzi try to get his attention and fans try to sneak in a selfie, a car — a Renault, to be exact, because we are in France, after all — apparently runs over his foot. While the mini accident is happening, Zayn can be heard muttering a faint "ouch" through clenched teeth as he makes his way to his black van.

A day after the happenings, Zayn took to social media to give fans a much-needed update about his condition, taking the mishap in stride and turning it into perhaps the best paid ad Instagram has ever seen. "My foot is fine!! Thanks to my incredibly well-made shoes," the singer wrote in his post, showing a close-up of the scuffed shoe in the last slide. (Now, a whole car tire and barely a black mark on the toebox and mudguards? Excuse me while I make my way to Kenzo.)

Zayn followed up his Kenzo-foot update with yet another post from Paris Fashion Week Men's. On January 21, the star posted a short but sweet recap of his time in the city of lights, including pics of the outfits he wore to the Loewe and Valentino shows. "Merci beaucoup Paree," he captioned the post with a peace and victory hand emojis.

Who would have thought that a mishap with a car could have given us potentially the funniest social update Zayn has ever posted? Not us.
