For the Oscars 2022, Zendaya hired one of the most exclusive makeup artists in Hollywood, one who works with only the most select clientele. Her name is Zendaya Coleman.

Yup, the Euphoria star did her own makeup, and rather flawlessly too. “Every now and then I do my own beat,” she wrote on Instagram Stories, adding, “and then I switched up the eye,” indicating that she DIY’d it for both the ceremony and the Vanity Fair after-party.

The Spider-Man star credited Lancôme products for both looks; the actor is an ambassador for the brand. Though she usually works with makeup artist Sheika Daley, Z’s been known to do her own makeup for more than one red-carpet appearance, including the 2015 AMAs.

Zendaya was in attendance to support Dune, which ended up garnering six awards that night. For her first look, her stylist Law Roach put her in a crop top and a shimmery skirt, and for her second, a sharp dark suit. With a leather tie.

During the night, Zendaya also got a special shout-out during a performance of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from the Disney musical Encanto. In a verse added for the occasion, rapper Megan Thee Stallion referenced Zendaya’s presence, which seemed to delight the actor.

This year’s Oscars was all about finding a look that was indisputably you. Zendaya did her own makeup, Julia Fox had a bag made of human hair, Lady Gaga wore $10 lipstick, and Kristen Stewart took her heels off the moment she stepped off the red carpet.

In addition to her career as a makeup artist, Zendaya is also making music. After releasing a song for the Euphoria soundtrack, she wrote on Twitter, “I stepped away from music quite a while ago, for a number of reasons, but I still really love it, so the kindness and support I’ve received the past few days just for a little tiny toe-dip back into some music means the absolute world to me..thanks<3.”
