Nike Women's Half Marathon Training: Part 3
Throughout the training process, Saturdays have always been my "long run"
day, and this past Saturday "long" took on a whole new meaning when I went
for 11 miles. Yup, ELEVEN. That's about an hour and forty minutes of pure
power in Nike lizard-esque neon shorts.

New Jewelry Site Paris Air Launches
These rainy, romantic early fall days have me craving something a bit . . . Parisian. I've been trying rocking my cat eye, cropped pants, and Saint James tee, and pining for mounds of macarons! But the perfect touch comes from a brand-new site called Paris Air. Recently launched by an ÿber-adorable French couple, Marie and Matt, Paris Air features supersweet baubles made by French designers--the kinds of goodies you can only get in a Parisian flea market (we won't tell that you scored them online!). I'm dying for about a million things on the site. Shop using the checkout code "teen" for 15% off. Merci, Marie!

Nike Women's Half-Marathon Training: Part 2
Maybe it's the perfectly chilly fall weather, or that I'm really getting into the Hunger Games, or that I've got a new wardrobe of supersleek Nike running gear (or that I eat a gigantic cookie after my runs!), but I've officially fallen in love with running. My training is going really great, and I've been gradually increasing my mileage.

How to Get Perfect Eyebrows
Last Friday I set out to interview renowned brow guru Anastasia. Before taking a seat to chat, she put a friendly hand on my back and guided me to her chair--I was a few weeks behind on having my brows shaped, and I guess she felt it was her beauty duty to clean me up. And I'm beyond glad she did! As she tweezed my super-unruly brows, we chatted about her experience (she has an art background, which is no surprise since she uses brow shaping to create her clients' perfect face) and her theory on shape.According to Anastasia, anyone can figure out their perfect brow length and shape by using the golden ratio. This is how it works: The starting point of your brow should be directly in line with the inside of the nostril on the same side of your face. To find where your arch should be, line up a pencil from the inner corner of your right nostril, through the middle of your right eye and then continue out--that place on your brow is where your arch should be! Finally, use your pencil from the outer right corner of your nose, and follow the line to the outer corner of your eye and out to your brow--this diagonal line is where the end of your brow should be.To simplify things, Anastasia recently launched her new Kit For Perfect Brows and Eyes, which contains everything you need for perfect brows: tweezers, an eyebrow brush, eyebrow gel, highlighter, a brow powder duo, mascara, cooling eye brightener, eyebrow stencils, and an instructional guide and DVD, all for $75 (a $171 value). Talk about a deal! Her number-one piece of advice, though, for shaping your brows? "For your first time, go to a professional. Don't try and shape your brows for the first time yourself--if you overpluck, the hairs might not grow back! But if you go see a professional for the initial shaping, you can keep them pretty cleaned up yourself at home." Pick up Anastasia's The Kit For Perfect Brows and Eyes and shop her brand-new line of eyeshadows at Sephora.

Score the Teen Vogue FNO Braided Updo
Fashion month may be winding down, but over here at Teen Vogue HQ, we're still all a-flutter over our awesome (if we may say so) Fashion's Night Out party! One of my favorite parts of the night was the fashion show and the models' killer braided hairdos! We chatted up the man behind the look, Matt Fugate with Sally Hershberger Downtown, to find out how to get the look.

Nike Women's Half Marathon Training: Part 1
So far, the half marathon training hasn't been too brutal! Nike hooked me up with the nicest coach EVER, Julianne Henner, who trains everyone from Olympic athletes to yours truly (and is a former Olympian herself!), and she's really taking care of all the planning. We chatted briefly about my goals (to cross the finish line) and my concerns (expiring mid-race) and together came up with running schedule for this week that totally fits into my life. The biggest problem is that with after-work events I don't have much time or energy to train in the evenings. So, I've been hauling myself out of bed at around 5:30AM to get in a good long run, do some strength training, and then do a really thorough stretch. And I've gotta say, I thought that I would hate waking up before dawn to ercise, but I actually LOVE it! No kidding, working out in the AM makes you feel super awake and powerful all day!

I'm Running The Nike Women's Half Marathon!
Okay. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this yet, but I have a big announcement to make. (Well, big in the scheme of my life, actually HUGE in that case!) On October 17th I will run the Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Francisco!! It's something I've always wanted to do despite my friends' lack of encouragement - my friend Jennalise literally said "running is so meh," when I told her. Anyway, I've got less than a month to train, so stay tuned to hear all about my progress, and any of you SF ladies, head out on Oct 17th to cheer me on! I'll be the one at the very, very, very end looking extremely exhausted, but wearing cute bright lipstick!

Get Perfectly Imperfect Ombre Hair
Everyone from Drew Barrymore to Lauren Conrad seems to be on board with this ombre hair trend, and honestly, I can't say I blame them. After about six months of trying to maintain my "Nordic Blonde" look, I too am flirting with my roots. The upkeep is minimal, since the grown-out look is what you're going for, and as winter approaches and I become a snow-phobic recluse, that's exactly what I'm looking for. I turned to expert colorist Erin Bogart from Sally Hershberger Downtown in New York City for her tips on getting the look (and keeping it).

Beauty Crisis: What Hairstyles Work With Relad Hair?
Sarah asks: "I have a hair type that's almost never addressed in magazines - relad hair! I'm African-American and Irish mid with naturally extremely frizzy and coarse hair, and because of the texture, and because it's relad it's really tough to replicate most of the styles in magazines. What do you recommend, style-wise, for girls with relad hair?"

Pro Surfer Lakey Peterson Was Made for the Waves
Pro surfer Lakey Peter is a true water baby--when her mother (a former Olympic swimmer) was eight months pregnant, she competed in the Santa Barbara Triathlon. If that doesn't mean her daughter was destined for the life aquatic, I don't know what does! At twelve years old, Lakey was crowned the National Scholastic Surfing Association Western States Champ, and she's been winning titles ever since. Read on for Allie's Q&A with the surf star!
