Five Social Media Lessons to Learn From Emma Sullivan

This teen's negative tweet about the governor of Kansas sparked a nationwide debate about free speech and how teens use social media. We asked the experts about how to use Twitter tactfully.

First Look: Nomia Spring 2011

It's no surprise that Nomia designer Yara Flinn used to be a sculptor. Asymmetrical shapes, geometric paneling, and sporty cutouts defined Flinn's collection of body-con pieces in a mostly neutral color palette of black, white, and bone...

Nosh on Shake Shack and Score a Limited Edition Tote at Tory Burch on Fashion's Night Out

3.1 Phillip Lim and Rag & Bone Cohost a Fashion's Night Out Block Party

Block parties and Fashion's Night Out make an unconventional yet perfect match--kind of like black and brown, or denim on denim. Teen Vogue is teaming up with ASOS.com for our block party on Bleecker Street, and 3.1 phillip lim and Rag & Bone are joining forces for a mini-block party on Mercer Street in Soho.Stop by at 6 P.M. for complimentary burgers from BLT Go Burger, Van Leeuwen ice cream cones, and music from cute crooner Matt Creed (yum, yum, and YUM). Inside the 3.1 phillip lim store at 115 Mercer St., there will be a musical performance by My Gold Mask, a band that has been featured in 3.1 phillip lim runway shows. Phillip himself will also be on hand to chat with guests and dish out personal styling advice. Plus, if you make a purchase at the store, you'll receive a free 3.1 phillip lim smiley face t-shirt, a tube of NARS' new Pure Matte lipstick, and a digital download card for My Gold Mask's new single (which the band will unveil that night). Walk a few short steps to Rag & Bone at 119 Mercer St. to meet designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, receive mini-makeovers from Revlon's Global Artistic Director, and meet one of Revlon's Global Brand Ambassadors. Warn the neighbors: this is going to be one wild block party!

Jessica Lowndes' Asymmetrical Attire

"LBD" recently became an official word in the Oord English Dictionary, and 90210 star Jessica Lowndes demonstrates why the little black dress is a permanent fixture in fashion. Jessica's asymmetrical frock is simple, elegant, and well-tailored. The one-shoulder style is a perfect transition-piece from summer to fall: it can be dressed up with jewels for a fancy shamncy gala, or paired with tights and funky boots for a casual night out. Jessica's carved green jade earrings brighten up the ensemble, reminding us of Angelina Jolie's red-carpet look at the 2009 Oscars. When in doubt, remember three little letters: L. B. D.

Go to GANT Rugger on Fashion's Night Out to Win an Exclusive Bicycle and Vintage Polaroid Camera

Some go to Fashion's Night Out for the celebrity sightings. Others go to score free cupcakes and jam to live music. The wise crowd goes to seek out the once-in-a-lifetime store giveaways. GANT Rugger--the younger, funkier collection from the classic menswear label (GANT Rugger is to GANT what Rugby is to Ralph Lauren)--is teaming up with The IMPOSSIBLE Project, an endeavor to invent new instant film materials for Polaroid cameras. If you make a purchase from the GANT Rugger Fall 2010 collection at the West Village store at 353 Bleecker St., you will be entered into their epic giveaway. The glorious prizes are a limited edition GANT Cruiser bike inspired by wheelers from the early 20th century and a vintage Polaroid camera and accessories package (valued at over $1600!). Videographer Jake Davis (he's directed many of the music videos you know and love) will co-host the Fashion's Night Out party with Chris Black of Done to Death Projects and Apparel. Jake will take photographs of stylish shoppers and will publish the shots on his blog the next day, and we're guessing that they'll turn out as great as his shots of our own Hayley Phelan!

The Low Down on Lo Bosworth

Lo and behold, Lo Bosworth. Though she seems to be one of the saner cast members of The Hills, she's always confused us. Our favorite perky teen on Laguna Beach ("every day's a fashion show, Mom") wisely removed herself from the spotlight to do something no other cast member dared to do: get a college degree! Then, out of nowhere, the smart gal decided to hop back on the reality television bandwagon. Now, she's running her own website. Lo's fashion choices seem to reflect her career decisions: she is continuously changing her mind and experimenting. Lo is able to pull off this light brown color with her sun-kissed California tan, but the fit of the asymmetrical dress isn't working for her. The pairing of a messy hair-do and the loose fit of the dress has us thinking of casual wear, not red carpet attire. What do you think of her outfit?
