10 Classic Disney Movies That Totally Deserve Remakes
Disney’s been around for a long, long time. Walt Disney created Mickey Mouse way back in 1928, and they haven’t stopped conquering the worlds of animation (what’s up, Pixar?) and made-for-TV movies since. They’ve also been on a roll remaking some of their most beloved classics, from the wacky Tim Burton version of *Alice in Wonderland * to the sympathetic retelling of the Maleficent story from *Sleeping Beauty. * Live-action versions of our ‘90s favorites *The Little Mermaid * and *Beauty and the Beast * (starring Emma Watson) are in the works, and other gems like Mulan are on the to-do list. But which other Disney movies deserve a remake? We rounded up some of our old favorites, from Disney Channel Originals to the cartoon classics we loved as kids. Give them the love and respect they deserve, Disney!

Robin Hood
It makes so much sense to reboot this 1973 animated retelling of the Robin Hood legend, given today’s insane political climate. Maybe they could even cast Bernie Sanders as Robin, who steals from the rich to feed the poor. Donald Trump could play the evil Prince John! (Come on, you have to admit it’s kind of fitting.) We’ll also settle for a hottie like Chris Evans to voice a CGI fox, if we have to.

The Even Stevens Movie
Just imagine this remake — complete with 2016 Shia LeBoeuf. Crazy, right? He might be into it if they pitched it as a postmodern satire and marketed to millennials. After all, he *did * love re-watching it during his #AllMyMovies phase. Have you forgotten the face he made that was filled with pure, sentimental joy? Of course you haven’t.

Snow White
We’ve seen Kristen Stewart’s version of the fairytale heroine with skin white as snow and lips as red as a rose, but that version was way dark and violent. What about those of us who dig a good rom-com? A faithful, family-friendly retelling of the animated 1937 *Snow White * with more screen time for those adorable dwarves is what we’d like to see. Think extra duets with bluebirds and fewer sweaty, dirty fight scenes would be great, mm-kay?

Teen Beach Movie
Like High School Musical, why not recast and revamp this bubblegummy delight for a new generation every few years? It was based on the teeny-bop surf movies of the ‘60s, and given the success of the recent Grease Live, you might as well ride that retro wave, Disney.

The Cheetah Girls
This Disney Channel movie gave us (and Rob Kardashian) the gift of the ultra-charismatic Adrienne Bailon, and there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be redone to give another group of talented girls their shot at stardom. Girl groups never go out of style. Think of the costuming potential in 2016!

The Parent Trap
The Lindsay Lohan version was a remake of a ‘60s movie, but it’s been awhile since this classic story of twins separated at birth was redone. A 2016 version could include a social media subplot featuring Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat, making it easy for the twins to find each other. Like, maybe one twin’s friend finds the other twin on the “Explore” feature of Instagram and tags the other twin, “is this u?” Think of the possibilities! Lindsay Lohan could totally play the dad’s evil girlfriend to make it super-meta.

Zenon, Girl of the 21st Century
This Disney Channel Original got a lot of things wrong about the future … or did they? Disney made *three * Zenon movies, and each of them is charming in an outdated way. Disney could have a lot of fun re-imagining Zenon (or her daughter!) in the 22nd century, don’t you think? Pro tip: Those pigtails and high ponytails have got to go.
