The time has come for us to part with the golden days of G.I. Joe – supermodel golden child Gigi Hadid and ultra-handsome boy bander Joe Jonas. Like all good things, their five-month relationship couldn’t last and the two have (reportedly) broken up. Whether or not that’s for good is debatable, especially for two lovebirds firmly entrenched in the fickle world of fame. This “break up and make up and break up” is why it's always a good idea to keep your relationships off social media.

Gigi’s bestie Taylor Swift confirmed the Gigi/Joe dating rumors when she posted this very coupley photo of herself and BF Calvin Harris with Gigi and Joe … oh, and the third wheel, Karlie Kloss. When this was posted, we all freaked out because if it’s on Taylor’s account, you know it’s Bible.

Joe snapped this photo of his beautiful new girlfriend at Taylor’s Instagram-worthy (seriously, they took about 200 photos!) 4th of July party. It’s the classic dude-showing-off-his-hot-girlfriend-to-all-his-followers snap...only Joe is famous, and so is Gigi.

The pair’s friend Cara Delevingne coined Gigi and Joe’s instantly iconic couple name. We’ve had Bennifer I and Bennifer II. We’ve had Brangelina. We’ve had TomKat. We’ve had Kimye. And for a brief, golden moment, we had GI Joe.

Gigi posted a “Happy Birthday” to her one and only on his big day 11 weeks ago, and it was clearly a public statement of her love for the middle Jonas. Look how sweet they are together!

We knew it was for real a month ago when Gigi posted this dramatic statement of love. Or was she posting it because she felt she deserved all of these things, foreshadowing the eventual breakup? You can read into it either way you like.

Joe was so proud of his super-hot supermodel girlfriend that he posted a shot of her doing her thang when she walked the runway at Versace to his Instagram. You know when your boyfriend sends a tweet or snapabout how proud he is of your little accomplishment? Take that and multiply it times a thousand. That’s what this is like on Gigi and Joe’s level.
