Warning: major spoilers for Bel-Air season 3 below.
Bel-Air season 4 officially has a premiere date and a brand-new trailer. After a season 3 finale that delivered multiple shocking cliffhangers, fans were eager to hear word from Peacock on whether Bel-Air will return for season 4, and soon got an answer: Bel-Air is coming back for a fourth season, and it will be the last time we see the Banks family.
ICYMI: Bel-Air is a reimagining of the beloved ‘90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which starred Will Smith as a fictionalized version of himself. While Fresh Prince was a half-hour family sitcom, Bel-Air is an hour-long drama.
The dramatic concept of the series is a result of filmmaker and Fresh Prince fan Morgan Cooper’s question of what the seminal sitcom would look like if it were made today. In 2019, Cooper created his answer: a four-minute short film titled Bel-Air that depicted all the characters we know and love in a dramatic setting with darker conflict. After the short film-slash-trailer went viral, it caught the eye of Will Smith — and the rest is pretty much history.
“Working with partners that have been so supportive of that vision while bringing their own sensibilities and talent to the project, we were able to create something that we were ultimately all really proud of," Cooper said to Teen Vogue back in 2022 of the show's creative journey. "This show came from a place of passion and wanting to make something meaningful to the culture. It's been quite a journey, but I wouldn't change anything about it.”
The third season of Bel-Air concluded in August 2024 and left audiences screaming at their screens — fans knew this could not be where Will and the Banks family's stories end. Below, we've compiled a guide of everything you need to know about Bel-Air season 4, including new and returning cast, confirmed release date, first-look photos, trailer, and, of course, plot details.
When is Bel-Air season 4 coming out?
As confirmed by Peacock on September 3, Bel-Air season 4 will premiere on Monday, November 24, 2025. The show's fourth season, which will also be its final installment, will comprise eight 60-minute episodes. Three episodes will be released on the premiere date, with new episodes dropping weekly on Mondays — specifically two episodes on December 1 and three episodes on December 8.
Is there a trailer for Bel-Air season 4?
Peacock released the trailer for Bel-Air season 4 on November 3, 2025, set to Joey Bada$$'s “Devastated.” In the trailer, which you can watch above, we see Will and Carlton about to graduate high school and already considering their college options — with a few hiccups on the way — and we also get a peek at the repercussions of Geoffrey's past coming back to haunt him, and more. We also get a glimpse at Will delivering his graduation speech with some very familiar words: “Don't be afraid that your life gets flipped, turned upside down, and embrace the change ahead.”
Are there any first-look photos for Bel-Air season 4?
The first photo Peacock released from Bel-Air season 4 was a picture of Will and Carlton at school from episode one called “The Maybes.” In the pic, which you can see above, the pair seems jubilant while greeting an unidentified woman. Peacock released the first-look image on September 3 to coincide with the announcement of the long-anticipated premiere date.
On November 3, to coincide with the trailer release, Peacock released 11 additional photos from the upcoming season, which you can view by swiping left or using the arrows below. Bel-Air has been on a tight production schedule since its debut — despite the setback of the Hollywood strikes, we've received a new season of the show every year since 2022, and season 4 is no exception.
What happened in the Bel-Air season 3 finale?
The real question is: what didn't happen in the Bel-Air season 3 finale? The finale episode doesn't give viewers a chance to catch their breath, dropping bombshell after bombshell in quick succession.
Just after Uncle Phil and Aunt Viv took major steps toward restoring trust in their relationship and refocusing on their marriage, the finale revealed a major twist — Viv is pregnant. Hilary and Lamarcus almost didn't get married due to a missing engagement ring and Jazz's unwanted presence in Martha's Vineyard, but they jumped the broom and made it to their Caribbean honeymoon… where Lamarcus ends up unresponsive, sending Hilary into a panic. Before we can process this twist, Will ends up seemingly kidnapped by Geoffrey's enemies, the same opps Geoffrey fled Bel-Air to escape from, in hopes of protecting both his family and the Banks family.
“We don’t know what happened, but it seems to be connected to Geoffrey,” showrunner Carla Banks Waddles teased to TV Line after the finale. “The last thing Geoffrey wants, which he says in that [final] voiceover, is to put the family in any sort of jeopardy because of him.” With so many questions and zero answers, we are more than thankful that Bel-Air season 4 is now around the corner, so we can put our worries about the fate of so many characters to rest.
What will Bel-Air season 4 be about?
In an interview with Teen Vogue, Banks Waddles described season 3 as “emotional, pearl-clutching, and wild.” Series star Jabari Banks chose the three adjectives: “elusive, dangerous, and sexy.” And boy, were they right.
Bel-Air season 4 will likely kick off by answering so many of the questions they left us with. How will Vivian inform Phil of her pregnancy? Will this new baby derail her career and the progress in their marriage? Is Lamarcus dead? Where is Will? Is he safe? Will Geoffrey return to Bel-Air to avenge him, or will he lie low in London to avoid any further danger?
The official logline for the season shared by Peacock is as follows: “In season four of Peacock’s successful one-hour drama series Bel-Air, Will tries to balance the fun and excitement of senior year with the expectations that have brought him to this moment. Carlton tests his own resolve as he deals with the fallout of some very big decisions that could threaten his future. Together, both boys will help each other through this pivotal time in their lives. An unexpected power shift will threaten the brotherhood between Phil and Geoffrey, whose loyalties to the Banks family will be tested. Viv struggles with reinventing herself as she looks at motherhood from a different perspective. It’s Ashley’s freshman year in high school and she’s working through a rebellious phase but quickly learns that the status quo may no longer serve her. Hilary goes on a journey of self-exploration.”
Who is in the cast of Bel-Air season 4?
The entire main cast you know and love is returning for Bel-Air season 4. In the video confirming the season, we already saw Jabari Banks (who plays Will), Olly Sholotan (Carlton Banks), Coco Jones (Hilary Banks), Akira Akbar (Ashley Banks), Adrian Holmes (Phillip Banks), Cassandra Freeman (Vivian Banks), and Jimmy Akingbola (Geoffrey), so they are confirmed to come back. Jordan L. Jones (Jazz) and Simone Joy (Lisa Wilkes) are also expected to return.
Recurring cast members also expected to return are Karrueche Tran as Hilary's close friend Ivy, Nicholas Duvernay as Drew, Marlon Wayans as Will's estranged father Lou, April Parker Jones as Will's mother Vy, Jovian Wade as Geoffrey's son Frederick, and Jazlyn Martin as Will's ex-love interest and Doc's niece Jackie. And Justin Cornwell as Hilary's NFL star ex-boyfriend Lamarcus… if he pulls through.
New additions to the season 3 cast who might also play a larger part in a potential season 4 are Dulé Hill as Omar Campbell, Alycia Pascual-Peña (previously seen in Moxie, the Saved by the Bell reboot series, and Neon) as Carlton's love interest Amira, rapper Vic Mensa (The Chi) as business mogul Quentin, Joseph Marcell as Roman, Michael Hackett as Ashley's new love interest Eli, Akilah A. Walker as Jazz's new love interest and activist/politician Yolanda Porter, and Lenora Crichlow as Geoffrey's ex-wife Penelope.
When did Bel-Air season 4 finish filming?
Filming for Bel-Air season 4 seems to have wrapped in the summer, at least for some cast members, who took the chance to pen heartfelt letters to commemorate the years working on the show.
On August 11, 2025, Coco Jones, who plays Hilary Banks on the show, took to her Instagram account to share her end of filming for season 4 and reflect back on what the show has meant for her personally and professionally.
“An ending and a new beginning. Hilary, I loved playing you girl (and wearing all those fire ass 'fits). I will truly miss this cast, crew, and the chemistry we had on screen. Such a blessing to be a part of this show for 4 YEARS wattt??,” Jones wrote, sharing pictures of herself holding a slate on set, as well as backstage peeks from the upcoming season.

Olly Sholotan, who portrays Carlton Banks in Bel-Air, also took to Instagram to share his tribute, sharing a photo carousel with Polaroid pictures and other memories from set.
“Yesterday, I shot my final scene as Carlton Banks and with that, wrapped on the fourth and final season of Bel-Air,” Sholotan wrote on his post. "There aren’t enough words in the English language to encapsulate everything I feel, so I can only leave with: thank you. Thank you for loving and watching our show; thank you for welcoming us into your homes; and thank you for treating us like family. We hope we’ve made you proud and taken care of these iconic characters for you. Y’all have flip turned my life upside up (down… you get what I mean). I can’t wait for y’all to see what we’ve been doing the last few months. Love u, and see u sooner than you think 🖤"

Adrian Holmes, who plays Philip Banks, took viewers along the ride of his last day on set on August 11, 2025, via his Instagram stories, while Cassandra Freeman, who plays Vivian Banks, the matriarch of the Banks family, also took to her social media to mark the end of the show, sharing pictures of the cast members celebrating, presumably at a wrap party, after her last day on set.
“It’s a WRAP on season 4, the final season,” Freeman wrote. “Too many words of gratitude I could share here, but mostly I just thank God for his hand being on every spirit. I got to meet on this journey. I thank God for every word we got to utter. I thank God that all we tried to do was to give a platform to the sacredness of family.🙏🏾💕 And to the endlessly inspiring [Morgan Stevenson Cooper] for his vision that constantly exceeds expectations!”

On August 25, Jabari Banks, who plays Will Smith, also paid tribute to his journey on the show on Instagram with an emotional photo and video dump. “It’s safe to say Bel-Air has been a lifelong journey for me,” the series star wrote in his caption. “From growing up watching the original Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, to becoming the ‘Prince’ myself. No doubt this feels like the biggest goodbye of my life. But these memories…will last lifetimes 👑. I just want to say thank you to all of our fans for the continuous support! And so excited for you all to experience Season 4! Until then… 👑.”
Previously, Olly Sholotan had announced the start of filming, posting a video to TikTok on May 15, 2025, of himself and his costar Jabari Banks participating in a viral dance trend in what looks to be his trailer. “We byke [back] fr,” Sholotan captioned the video.

The TikTok was geotagged in Los Angeles, California (where the show films), and near the very end of the nine-second clip, you could see Akira Akbar, who plays Ashley, peeking into the frame, clearly amused at her two fictional siblings.
