Doja Cat told fans she "quit" music on Thursday, after a dispute with fans online about a canceled concert in Paraguay.
As noted by TMZ, the musician took to Twitter to share her frustrations in a series of tweets, even changing her handle to "I quit." According to TMZ, the upset began when Doja tweeted about feeling disappointed with her performance in Brazil, leading a group of fans from Paraguay to ask why she didn't apologize for the canceled show in their country. Doja was set to perform at Music Festival Wizard's Asuncionico 2022 in Asunción, Paraguay on March 22 — however, she was unable to do so as a result of the concert's cancellation due to severe inclement weather, reports XXL.
Paraguayan fans expressed their disappointment and frustrations that Doja did not acknowledge the festival cancellation or her Paraguayan fans online, the way she has done previously for other countries she visits.

Doja started to clash with fans on Twitter after they continued to insist acknowledgement from her. After one fan told her it was “too late to apologize,” Doja replied that she was "not sorry.”

When questioned about her humility by a fan, the rapper gave a lengthy response: "I can't wait to f***in disappear and I don't need you to believe in me anymore. Everything is dead to me, music is dead, and I'm a f***ing fool for thinking I was made for this this is a f***king nightmare."
A few minutes later, in the early hours of March 25, Doja tweeted: "This s**t ain't for me so I'm out. Y'all take care."

Even though Doja is a celebrity, it's never OK to harass anyone online. While it's natural to be upset over a cancelled performance or a flippant comment from your favorite star, bullying them to the point that they "quit" is out of bounds.
Though Doja still performed as the headliner at Lollapalooza Brazil on March 25, on March 26 she tweeted again: “Don't ask me for sh*t.”
However, a few hours later, Doja removed “i quit” from her Twitter name and logged back on to address the online conflict and apologize to her fans. “I can travel, I can eat good food, I can see new people, I can smile, I can make memories that I dreamed of having, I can laugh, I can support my family and my friends, I can learn about the world, and I can give back to everyone because of you," she tweeted. “I do owe people sh*t. I owe a lot.”
The star continued in a string of vulnerable tweets, expressing gratitude and her desire to “learn” from her fans. Doja also described the ambitious pressures she puts on herself and her goal to destroy the “fears that don’t allow me to expand my heart.” Doja then went back and quote tweeted earlier tweets, walking back on a few of her statements and apologizing. When a few fans attempted to comfort her and apologize for harsh words shared by fans during the conflict, Doja admitted that her own actions were not "any better."
It seems as though the conflict between Doja and her fans has been resolved, but let this be a learning moment for all: we never know what others are going through behind closed doors. Leading with kindness and patience is one of the best methods to truly seek understanding from others.
