Dua Lipa is all about taking fashion risks. Since her earliest days in the spotlight, the pop star has been combining elements of flashy Y2K style with current trends in a unique, always compelling way, and her latest look is the perfect example of her mix-and-match vibe.
Dua recently shared a carousel of photos of some fun moments in her life, including nights out and a few fancy meals. In several of the photos, the singer is wearing a leather lace-up corset, but it’s not your stereotypical lingerie-inspired look. Dua’s top flips the trend with a lace-up front and high collar neckline with a chunky silver buckle. It’s definitely giving Christina Aguilera circa her Stripped era, which should come as no surprise from the 2000s-loving Dua.
Dua styled the corset with a pair of black Versace logo sweatpants, silver cuff earrings, and a black cropped jacket, plus bright red nails, a low bun, and shimmery bronze eyes — a more modern touch to ground the throwback corset top.
That’s not the only major leather moment in the photo dump. In other pics, Dua wears a long leather jacket in the Pantone color of the year, magenta, over some track pants, a graphic tee reading “Eat pasta run fasta” and a hoodie. The hot pink coat instantly elevates the casual ‘fit for the high-low look, as though Dua was just hanging out at home and then decided to go out, so grabbed a glam coat to upgrade her sweats.

Corsets have been the go-to look for celebs over the past few years; Bella Hadid, Selena Gomez, and Hailey Bieber have all put their spin on the laced-up look. Lingerie-esque looks were a huge part of dressing up in the 2000s, and corsets make throwing it back and looking hot, well, a cinch!
