Emma Roberts Confirmed Her Baby's Full Name in First Photo

Welcome, Rhodes!

Updated on January 13, 2021:

Emma Roberts has officially shared the first photo of her and boyfriend Garrett Hedlund's new baby, a son named Rhodes Robert Hedlund.

She posted the pic on January 12, a still of her snuggling the baby outside in matching orange ensembles. “Thank you 2020 for getting one thing right ☀️ Our bright light Rhodes Robert Hedlund,” she wrote in the Instagram caption. The name confirmation comes after TMZ previously reported that Rhodes was their son's name, and that he was born on December 27, 2020.

A source recently told People that the couple was settling in to life as parents. "Having a newborn in the pandemic has been a lot harder than either of them expected, but they're really, really trying their best to figure things out," the source said to People. “They kept the baby's arrival to themselves because they're taking the pandemic very seriously. They of course want to share this time in their lives with friends and family, but they wanted to avoid having people stopping by and visiting to be safe.”

Emma Roberts has given birth to her baby boy.

The Holidate star and her partner, Garrett Hedlund, welcomed their son, on Sunday, December 27, according to TMZ. The pair reportedly named their new addition Rhodes.

Pregnancy rumors began swirling around Emma and Garrett in the summer of 2020, and the actor officially announced her pregnancy on Instagram in late August, posting a few cute pics of herself, Garrett, and her baby bump. "Me ... and my two favorite guys," she captioned the pics at the time, adding two blue hearts. Since then, she's shared several pics of herself at different stages of her pregnancy journey, as well as a glimpse into her baby's budding wardrobe.

In a November interview with Cosmopolitan, Emma opened up about being pregnant in a chaotic year like 2020, telling the magazine it made her take self-care much more seriously. She also touched on what kind of mother she hopes to be. "It's a beautiful thing to know that you’re in charge of creating your child’s world. I take that so seriously," she said. "Even just putting his nursery together, that’s the first environment he’s going to be in. Sometimes I think about seeing him in the morning and how I want to say good morning to him and how I want to put him to bed at night, all those things that end up creating your sense of safety. Sometimes it’s scary, though, because I’m responsible for this child’s world and memories, and I want to make it all wonderful."

Congratulations, Emma, Garrett, and baby Rhodes!
