The monochromatic look has been a fashion world favorite since the late 2010s. Gigi Hadid clearly approves of the tone-on-tone look, considering she wore three monochromatic ensembles while doing press in New York City — all in one day!
The look is so popular for good reason: it's so versatile, so chic and can be customized to your personal style, whether you prefer head-to-toe hot pink or black leather on leather. Gigi Hadid proved it by putting unique twists on her three very different monochromatic looks.
First up: a leather-on-leather vibe while heading to an appearance on The Today Show to promote her new show Next in Fashion. The model and Guest in Residence founder brought a glamorous punk vibe to the NBC studio in skintight black leather leggings, slouchy heeled black boots, a black turtleneck, a cropped leather moto jacket and black fingerless motorcycle gloves, plus slicked-back hair, silver drop earrings and a glittering choker necklace layered over her turtleneck.
Later, the supermodel did a total 180 with her look, going from rock 'n roll edge to polished uptown girl. She went full-on classic camel post-Today appearance, donning a luxurious neutral layered Brandon Maxwell look with a pair of knee-length shorts, a long shirt worn slightly unbuttoned and an oversized blazer atop it. She accessorized the sleek and chic morning outfit with the same pair of sunglasses from the leather look, a matching neutral pump and some chunky silver earrings and a matching choker. It's totally timeless, not to mention totally easy to recreate at home.
Gigi's final look was much more colorful than her a.m. ensembles, complete with fun '80s elements. (Wasn't she tired from changing clothes so frequently? I would be.) That evening, she was snapped in NoHo en route to The Tonight Show in a gorgeous deep teal green look of skinny pantaboots and a cropped wrap-style jacket with major shoulder pads, broad lapels and a hood, all in the same dazzling green shade. She wore her blonde hair swept up and back and accessorized with a pair of dangling aqua gem earrings.
