A lesson in how to keep it comfy and colorful while working from home.

Many of us have the privilege of working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And while working from home we're struggling with maintaining our daily routine to keep our sanity and being as comfortable as possible. We're no strangers to a good pair of sweats, but we are still trying to find our footing with exploring outfit options that are soft, cozy, and leave us feeling put together. The key is being willing to dare and try everything. Don't rule out the fancy pieces that are reserved for nights out or birthday parties.

This is the time to unearth clothing that you might have forgotten about. Play dress up and experiment with outfits you've been too hesitant to try. The plus side to working from home is that when you do come up with a wild (but cozy!) outfit, you can wear them for a day in the comfort of your own home and see how it makes you feel. Hate it? Then just walk into the next room and try again. Remember which ones you end up keeping on the whole day and maybe even the next. That way when it is time to go outside, you're good outfit arsenal will be stocked.

Scroll through for five outfits that I'll be repeating while sitting in on virtual brainstorms, video parties, and mid-day couch naps.

1. Party Top + Party Pants

Virtual parties are all the rage now. Join the video party with open arms by wearing a sequin top. Since the crop for a video call is mostly only the upper half of your body, make the neckline fun! And interesting! Add a little sparkle, your fellow party goers deserve it. It might not sparkle under the disco ball, but it will sparkle when reflected off your computer screen.

2. Tie Dye Never Dies

It's time to prematurely break out your DIY tie dye pieces from last summer. Head-to-toe tie dye might feel like overkill but coordinate the pieces so that they're just slightly off in color and you're adding a subtle dimension to your outfit.

3. Checked Out

A heavy thick fleece set is necessary for any work-from-home-er. It maximizes coziness and keeps you warm. But find one in a checkered print or other fun print so that you don't feel too dressed down. They're easy to wear and add just the right amount of slouch (to your couch).

4. Throw A Sequin On It

Your go-to white tank top might be stained, but you love it anyway because of how comforting and familiar it is. When the video chat starts though, throw a sequin top over it. You cover up the stains, look like you've been working in a sequin top all day (a baller move), and add some joy to your next virtual brainstorm meeting.

5. Prints! Prints! Prints!

This is for when you emerge from quarantine for a quick grocery break. Instead of reaching for your black puffer, find a cropped printed jacket that is in the same color world as your printed lounge pants. Dress to the nines for the outside world. Hand sanitizer not pictured.
