Just a day after sporting long, dark hair and bangs in an Instagram post, Lizzo has changed up her hair color and is now rocking a gorgeous copper shade we can't get enough of.

Lizzo posted the new look to her Instagram on April 21, writing, "Hi. I felt helpless today. I changed my hair color and did my makeup and made funny faces to make myself laugh. It’s the least I could do. If you haven’t done anything nice for yourself today this is your sign to find a light. Black girls, I love you. We deserve to be protected and loved."

In the pic, she's wearing her hair curly in a space bun style, and the coppery tone perfectly complements her glowing skin and faux freckles. She even matched her manicure to her new hair color, going for a natural bronze tone on her tips. Lizzo kept the earth tones theme going for her outfit, too, wearing a chiffon off-the-shoulder top in hues of red, tan, and golden yellow, plus a few crystal necklaces.

While we can't say for sure if the new color is here to stay or a temporary look created by colored hair wax like those currently taking over TikTok, the shade is perfect for the musician — and for the upcoming summer months.

Lizzo's heartfelt caption was likely a reference to the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Ma'Kiah Bryant at the hands of Columbus, Ohio police officers, and how Lizzo used beauty to make herself feel a small bit of joy in a dark world. (She also opened up about the guilty verdict of Derek Chauvin a day prior.)

Finding meaning and comfort in beauty is something that Lizzo often talks about. Just a few days before changing up her color, Lizzo shared an unedited nude selfie to welcome Taurus season and to announce a partnership with Dove. "To celebrate I wanna give y’all this unedited selfie... now normally I would fix my belly and smooth my skin but baby I wanted show u how I do it au natural," she wrote. "I am excited to be partnering with @dove and the #DoveSelfEsteemProject which is helping to reverse the negative effects of social media and changing the conversation about beauty standards. Let’s get real y’all."
